The Vintage Collection Bespin Security Guard (Helder Spinoza) is the best figure of 2022, and we say that knowing it has imperfections and is 50% reused parts. And it’s hard to believe we waited 42 years for the FIRST modern counterpart to the classic 1980 The Empire Strikes Back vintage Kenner release. It’s like waiting for a new ABBA record. But it’s finally here, and it’s divine. (more….)

Hasbro fails TVC collectors again with The Vintage Collection Yoda (VC218) figure. Refusing to update the swivel elbows collectors have begged for since 2011, they plopped the “Cave Of Evil” figure on a card sporting The Empire Strikes Back entertainment logo, added a few different paint operations, and called it a day. Now that we’re closer than ever to recreating all of the vintage Kenner characters from the 1980 The Empire Strikes Back line thanks to the announcement of both classic Kenner Bespin Security Guard figures, it’s time that Hasbro gets busy working releasing a The Vintage Collection of the Twin-Pod Cloud Car vehicle. Hasbro, in case you forgot, you have the tooling for a definitive re-release of this amazing vehicle back from 2010. And if you add a carded figure of an alternate (Twin-Pod) Cloud Car Pilot (please give us something different), collectors would be elated with your decision!

This figure topped JTA’s Fans’ Choice Poll, and once we published the results, it wasn’t long until Hasbro announced its imminent re-release. The Rebel Soldier (Echo Base Battle Gear) figure hasn’t looked better. They updated it with Photo Real deco, fixed the mismatched ankle joints, changed a few colors, and gave the boots a shiny finish instead of a matte finish. We took the time to break it all down for you by producing an all-new 56-image gallery complete with comparison shots, dioramas, and a breakdown of what separates the 2011 version from the 2021 new release in the Collector Notes. This figure is shipping in the Bib Fortuna wave, and Hasbro is selling solid case packs of the figure too. See this excellent figure updated in our RDRs now! There’s more difference here than you may realize.

And it’s a wrap! It took us all year, but we got through Hasbro’s The Vintage Collection The Ninety Six action figures and provided our assessment on where we are for each one. Many of you have asked if we’d do a wrap-up. Well, we think it’s best if you provide your input in this article. Give your impressions on where we are with this line, and see how far we have yet to go before completion. We have a dedicated place on our website for The Ninety Six. Click HERE and you’ll find all 96 action figures. And if you hover over them, a GREEN border means we have an acceptable figure already in The Vintage Collection, and if you hover and the border turns RED, it means Hasbro has work to do! Holy smokes! Check out the AWESOME VINTAGE KENNER 2022 CALENDAR on Amazon. It looks like someone who designed this got inspiration from our Vintage Kenner Research Droids Reviews!
