Review: Boba Fett [Droids] - TVC - Target Exclusive

We’re not going to lie. The Vintage Collection Droids Boba Fett looks gorgeous. But upon further inspection, you’ll discover how lazy Hasbro was because they did nothing to help the character’s screen accuracy. It’s ultimately another disappointment. (more….)

Review: Yoda - TVC - VC218

Hasbro fails TVC collectors again with The Vintage Collection Yoda (VC218) figure. Refusing to update the swivel elbows collectors have begged for since 2011, they plopped the “Cave Of Evil” figure on a card sporting The Empire Strikes Back entertainment logo, added a few different paint operations, and called it a day. They should be ashamed. (more….)

Hasbro, in all honesty, what the frack is your defect? With the many things you do good, you set yourselves back with the horrible mistakes you make. It was inevitable that you’d somehow work in the phase I Clone Troopers into the army builder subline. That’s fine and rather excellent of you. But how are you so wholly disengaged that you didn’t even know where to begin with them? (more….)

Hasbro indirectly announced and showed what looks to be the new packaging will look like for their Marvel Legends line (which is a 6-inch scaled line of action figures). It isn’t outside the realm of possibility that they will try something similar with The Black Series line. Generally speaking, people seem unhappy with the new format.

The Clone Wars Ahsoka figure was excellent in 2012, and it’s even better a decade later, thanks to a new paint job and Photo Real technology. We won’t say much here, so see why you’ll need to add this upgrade to your collection ASAP. We took the time to break it all down for you by producing an all-new 84-image gallery complete with comparison shots and a breakdown of what separates the 2012 version from the 2022 new release in the Collector Notes. This figure is shipping now. See this excellent figure updated in our RDRs now! There’s more difference here than you may realize.

If I had written this article the day of the announcement, it might have looked pretty ugly, not that this post will be much better. But in all seriousness, what’s the deal with making The Vintage Collection Stormtrooper from A New Hope a Walmart exclusive? (more….)

The Phantom Menace Anakin Skywalker figure hasn’t looked better. They updated it with Photo Real deco, fixed the mismatched ankle joints, changed a few colors, and reissued it like it was 2012 all over again. We took the time to break it all down for you by producing an all-new 60-image gallery complete with comparison shots, and a breakdown of what separates the 2012 version from the 2022 new release in the Collector Notes. A Tale Of Two The Vintage Collection Shae Vizla Figures

Hasbro mentioned that they updated Shae Vizla, but unless I missed it, it appears they minimized its changes by just noting the Photo Real upgrade. So I thought that other collectors may not realize just HOW MUCH is different here. Comparing the new upcoming release to the original 2012 version, the two figures look nothing alike. The new version has an all-new head sculpt! Check out the differences below! Those looking to add the original figure may have to spend more than anticipated.

JTA reader Michael W. found The Vintage Collection Remnant Stormtrooper figure at his local Walmart for a mere $3.50. Keep in mind, this was the first time Michael ever saw the figure in brick and mortar. It makes you wonder what’s the point of retail anymore (on so many levels).

Now that we’re closer than ever to recreating all of the vintage Kenner characters from the 1980 The Empire Strikes Back line thanks to the announcement of both classic Kenner Bespin Security Guard figures, it’s time that Hasbro gets busy working releasing a The Vintage Collection of the Twin-Pod Cloud Car vehicle. Hasbro, in case you forgot, you have the tooling for a definitive re-release of this amazing vehicle back from 2010. And if you add a carded figure of an alternate (Twin-Pod) Cloud Car Pilot (please give us something different), collectors would be elated with your decision!

As you know, we’ve just finished up reviewing what many are calling the “greatest of all time” wave of The Vintage Collection Clone Wars figures. Yes, the wave was nothing more than simple repaints, but it added the Clone Wars entertainment logo to The Vintage Collection repertoire and added new characters to the line for the first time. If you passed on this wave of figures, you’re missing out badly. With its runaway success, we believe that Hasbro and Walmart can work together again to develop two additional waves with little to no new tooling while making collectors inordinately happy simultaneously. Click through to check out our suggestions and the figures they can use to quickly assemble two more unique figure assortments for us. (more….)
