Welcome back to another issue of Toy Run Tuesday. Today you’ll find several wonderful photos of my dioramas taken by a good friend of mine. In addition, there are a couple specific figures from this last week that I want to share. Click here for more!
A couple weeks back I posted that I got a grail piece in my collection: the Black Series Shock Trooper Helmet. This week I’m pleased to say that I was able to add another grail piece to my collection. The title is your answer, but there is more to the story. I also received an awesome photo from the client who I made those 2 ARC troopers for. Click through for my week in Star Wars, and let us know what you added to your collection this week in the comments!
Hello, fellow toy runners. A small update from me this week. We are getting ready to move so much of my collection is starting to get packed away! Any big additions to your collections this week? Let us know in the comments.
The regular release of the Rise of Skywalker Sith trooper has been found in the Disney Springs shopping center in Florida. Thanks to Darren V. from Facebook for the photo. It appears that it comes with two of the blasters that were in the SDCC exclusive release. I’m interested to see the card art for the Vintage Collection version. Will you be army building this trooper? Let us know in the comments!
This last week was fantastic for toy running! I have a ton of photos to share with you. My father and I went to several collector shops in the Phoenix area over the weekend. There were tons of Star Wars toys to look at and some great deals to be had. Click here to see what I mean!
Welcome back to Tuesday everyone. At least it’s not Monday! Just a minor update from me this week. How about you? Did you work on any new dioramas or custom figures? Get anything in the mail? Load up on $2.50 Snokes and Jyn’s from Walmart? Let us know how your week in Star Wars went in the comments!
I love toy photography. I follow about 20 pages on Instagram who regularly post new photos of toys from Star Wars, Marvel, DC, Hot Wheels, and more. I’m not sure as though I have seen a photo mirror a movie scene so accurately as this amazing work of art done by James R. Special thanks to him for letting me share his photo from Facebook. Another thanks to Steve Evans for signing off on such a beautiful design. Have you done any photography with your new skiffs? Show it off in the comments!
Finally, some benefit to being a premium member (besides free shipping)! If you haven’t snagged the recent SDCC exclusive figures, and are waiting for HasbroPulse, you may have a leg up on the scalpers if you are a premium member. You can get to the announcement/product page by clicking the image below. Is this enough for you to renew your membership next year? Let us know in the comments.
Welcome, toy runners to another fine Toy Run Tuesday! This week you’ll find some photos from some recently completed customs I did. Please click through and share with your fellow collectors what you acquired this week. Did you get a TVC Skiff? Boba Fett repack? Build your army of 6″ figures? Let us know in the comments!
I’m going through the purchasing process for a new home, so I am trying to save every penny for that. Unfortunately that includes pennies spent on new action figures, so not really anything for me this week but some Star Wars sno cones! I’ll leave this TRT in your capable hands. Hello boyos! Another week has passed and it’s time for another Toy Run Tuesday! This time I’ve got some updates about some things I picked up a couple weeks ago, and a few other great finds! Click through to share with us your week in Star Wars!
Welcome back, toy runners! It’s our fourth week and I’ve got some really good finds I wanted to share with you. SDCC was rather a bust for new reveals, but did you get any of the exclusives? I didn’t get any of the current ones, but I did find an older SDCC exclusive this week. Post some pictures of your recent finds in the comments here!
We’ve arrived again on another fine Tuesday. Per usual, it’s that time again to share what you added to your personal collections this week! I’ve really loved seeing your photos the last couple weeks and I have some exciting new additions to share with you all. Go ahead and click here to see what I’m talking about!
After the success of last week’s TRT, I’m excited for this one! We had nearly 200 comments and photos of people’s collecting experiences from that week. I hope to see that kind of engagement going forward! I personally loved the custom work of some of our readers. For this week, I didn’t personally receive or buy very many new toys, but did have a chance to work on customs and have some other Star Wars fun. Check it out after the jump!
Last week I introduced a new weekly segment called Toy Run Tuesdays. We’ll call it TRT for short (if abbreviations are your thing). Today, the first TRT has arrived! Be sure to post photos in the comments. Check out the introductory article if you want to get a better picture of what we’re looking for, and the purpose behind TRT (hint: you can still participate if you didn’t go to a brick & mortar store). Hop on over to the comment section and show us what you’ve been up to collecting-wise!
That’s right folks! My card was just charged by Amazon for my order of the all-new Vintage Collection Death Star Gunner! I also got a notification from HasbroPulse, but at this point, it might just be a pre-authorization. Either way, it would seem it will arrive shortly from them as well. Keep an eye on your email if you’ve preordered this wave!
Okay, let’s get this going! I’ve been thinking about running this series for a little while now, but work and school have been kicking my butt lately, so my posts have been a little on the backburner. In any case, with all the saturation of news and leaks and new figure wishlists (and not getting the figures on that list), I wanted to create an opportunity to focus on the fun of collecting. So, to do that, let’s meet weekly to share what we have actually recently collected, or done with our collections. Click through for some general guidelines for Toy Run Tuesdays…
It looks like Amazon has gotten their stock of the newest wave of The Vintage Collection. You can find Chewbacca, Lando, Phasma, and the Praetorian Guard as well as the repack wave all for retail price ($12.99). However, it would seem they are having some difficulty keeping enough VC140 Stormtroopers in stock to meet the demand. That’s caused the price to soar up to $23+. Yikes! Luckily you can still pre-order the best stormtrooper figure ever for $13.99 at Entertainment Earth.
It’s been said that twenty percent of a market buys eighty percent of the goods. That means that you and I here reading this article are probably buying a lot of action figures, but how many is that really? JTA friend Tyler F. and I were having a conversation about the market for TVC and TBS figures. We have 3.75″ collectors and 6″ collectors (and others) who follow our site, and I was wondering, when it comes down it, who buys more action figures? Click through for more.
Yesterday I went to a liquidation store because I knew they had star wars figures. I just didn’t realize how many figures they had… There were cases upon cases full of Cassian and Jyn, and the remaining third of the stack was split between Death Troopers, Scarif Troopers, Lando, and Ackbar. The VC140 Rogue One Stormtrooper was my most anticipated figure of the year. Now that I have a few, it is my new favorite. I know some of our readers are on the fence about buying them since they are not “Original Trilogy specific,” but aren’t they? Let’s take a look at some of the reasons why you should buy a few (or a few more).
I’m seeing numerous reports of wave 6 showing up in people’s homes around the country. Did you pre-order wave 6 of The Vintage Collection? I just got 4 stormtroopers in the mail yesterday (from Amazon, and not a scalper price). Post a photo of your most recent hauls, especially if you got wave 6, in the comments of your new figures and where you ordered them from.
Find The Vintage Collection figures at EE here.
The last Ross exclusive was the Red Squadron A-wing. Are you ready for another? The once Toys R Us, turned Entertainment Earth then cancelled exclusive C-3PO and R2-D2 2-pack showed up at one of my local Ross stores in Mesa, AZ. It’s been available on Amazon for some time, but you can potentially get it for only $7 at Ross. Can we just send all the exclusives there so I can get them on the cheap? Check out our review of this nicely painted 2-pack here.
For some time, I have been rather disappointed with the lack of accessories that come with the 3.75″ premium lines. For example, Luke (Jedi Master) had a cloak if you count that as an accessory and nothing else, Walmart exclusive Lando was missing his blaster, the Praetorian Guard with only 1 head/weapon, etc. It seems that the days of extra accessories are gone, so what can be done? My personal favorite accessory set is the Endor Victory Accessory set. It came with the best trench coat ever. If Hasbro were to reintroduce accessory sets, what accessories would you like to see? Let us know in the comments!
Wow. I am floored by this amazing set from Hole in the Ground Productions. Thanks to Scott M. for sending us some amazing images of the playset he received (as well as a couple from HITGP’s Facebook page). You’ll definitely want to check out these images after the jump!
