You know things are extremely terrible with the supply chain and the Walmart distribution center, in particular, that a retail chain gets stock that was never theirs from the start. Walmart is now receiving Target exclusives before general marketplace stock or even their OWN exclusives! They’ve gone to plaid!
Longtime JTA reader and friend Robert F. visited his local Ollie’s only to find a slew of new discounted Hasbro Star Wars products. Two are Walmart exclusives, and the other didn’t make it further than online. It’s amazing to see how much product never arrived in stores by visiting your local Ollie’s. Many never saw the “Force Spirit” Yoda at their local Walmarts. No one wanted a 5POA cardboard playset. And even fewer collectors anted a new scale of rubbery hyper-articulated action figures known as Hyper Real. if Hasbro is smart, they’ll stick to what sells: TBS6, TVC, and stay away from the ST like it’s the toxic wasteland it is. You have to wonder what the heck is going on at the distribution centers.
This is what the Star Wars section now looks like at my local Walmart. Now, to be completely transparent, it didn’t look any different for a couple of years now, it’s only been relocated now. This is an image of an inner endcap that is sectioned off from the rest of the aisle. Where the Star Wars section once was has been completely removed, and in its place are He-Man and other action figures from other lines. I can’t think of worse mismanagement of a toyline. This is one of many reasons why brick and mortar shouldn’t be carrying Star Wars toys. Gift givers are NOT buying or looking for Star Wars. At all. I will never understand the defense of that argument for as long as I live.
Exclusives have been hitting homes the last couple of days, but they’re not arriving in pristine condition. Click through to read what JTA reader Tom R. received to his home recently. As he says, we should all be used to this now, but it’s still unacceptable.
Hasbro reached “expert” status when it comes to pouring salt into the wounds of collectors. After a fantastic run of 6-inch Bad Batch characters, JTA reader icatch9, as well as I, found the Bad Batch Mission Series set over the weekend at Target. And the number of figures produced for The Vintage Collection remains a big, fat ZERO.
It’s been wonderful seeing the few store report across the web of collectors finding the latest The Vintage Collection and The Black Series figures. But in my neck of the woods, this is the only Star Wars stock that does make it to brick and mortar. And for those that did find the new figures, once that stock is gone, it never seems to come back.
JTA reader Travis C. went to his local Walmart o find new Star Wars toys. There wasn’t anything in the toy aisle, but he found multiples of the new wave in the clearance aisle, marked down to $9.30 each, no less. And the Walmart employee who put them here took the time to sort them too!
Long-time JTA reader Tim W. found the latest The Vintage Collection figures at his local Target! Teebo, Emperor Palpatine, IG-11, and the long-awaited Lando Calrissian make up the wave! They’re out there folks! Click through for more!
Lucky collectors are locating Antoc Merrick’s X-Wing Fighter at their local Target stores (if you even know who this character is). Be on the lookout. Thank you to JTA reader Jeffrey S> for the report!
JTA reader Derek H. came across an interesting find at his local Target. These were available for a limited time online, so it’s likely a return. It’s interesting to see a convention exclusive in a retail store, however.
As if its clearance at Target and Walmart weren’t enough, JTA reader and friend Robert F. found the deluxe The Black Series 6″ Jar Jar Binks at Ollie’s.
After getting a dozen destroyed Princess Leia (Endor) figures from Walmart online, I have to admit that this is a sight for sore eyes. However, I found them on the bottom shelf nowhere near the Star Wars section. Why do things have to be this way?
If you’re still looking for the Lucasfilm 50th Anniversary The Vintage Collection figures, be sure to check your local Walmart’s clearance section. JTA reader Jon M. found Paploo and others hanging with clearance stickers on them there.
If you’re still desperate to find the Lucasfilm 50th The Vintage Collection exclusives at Walmart, the kicker display is still showing up. JTA reader Jaret just found it today in Tulsa, OK. What a shame that Hasbro and Walmart treated these exclusives so terribly. We should probably expect the same for the next wave.
One of the local Walmart stores finally decided to stock their months-long empty shelves. It was quite a sight to behold. As I made my way down the aisle, I wasn’t surprised that the two skinny rows set aside for Star Wars were barer than a newborn baby’s bottom. Even when Walmart restocks, Star Wars is never part of the equation. There were plenty of other Hasbro products too. When you see anecdotal evidence like this, it still makes you wonder who is at fault for the lack of Star Wars products. Sad.

GameStop.com had these available this past week (2 are now sold out), but they are also showing up at GameStop brick-and-mortar stores. JTA reader Chad found these at his local Alabama GameStop. Let us know in the comments where you are finding them.
Just wanted to let you guys know I scored the VC Electro staff Scout Trooper and Shadow trooper from my local GameStop in Hartselle AL this evening.
The Target Exclusive TBS Lucasfilm 50th Anniversary commemorative The Clone Wars figures are starting to arrive at brick and mortar. Daniel from the Georgia Alliance of Star Wars Collectors found these at his local Flowery Branch, GA Target.
JTA reader Lewis C. found The Mandalorian Greef Karga on clearance for $5.00. How many of you are still waiting for your orders to be fulfilled?
I was eager to see what y local Walmart and Target stores would put out for May 1, as it appeared many items were “register locked” until that day. While I found absolutely nothing at Target, I did find something new at Walmart. I couldn’t believe my eyes! (more….)
We’re getting MANY reports of The Mandalorian wave of the Retro Collection found at various Walmart stores throughout the country. We also found them in the Kentucky area. We also have reports from Philadelphia and Massachusetts and Texas. Special thanks to Chad R. for this image from an unknown location.
In a sea of nothingness, it’s a bit comforting to know that some NEW STUFF is indeed hitting brick and mortar. JTA reader Jon M. found The Black Series [Phase IV] Boba Fett Deluxe figure at his local Walmart, You can see our review of this fantastic figure HERE.
I did a Target run today during lunch, and as I came around the corner to the Star Wars aisle my peripheral vision caught a sign of new products. I immediately started skipping in elation in expectation of what I would find. As I got close, my stomach free-fell instantly. My local Target just received a new case of The Rise Of Skywalker 12-Inch Figures. I could barely pick myself up to exit the store. What a major kick in the you-know-what. But Star Wars is the best it’s ever been some will say! It’s the “Golden Era” of collecting what others will say too!
Found! JTA reader Charlie found the Retro Collection The Mandalorian figures at his local GameStop store! Let the hunting commence! Charlie is from Florida.
And if you’re one of the chosen few, you may find a kicker full of the latest The Black Series 6″ figures including Bo Katan and Asajj Ventress. Special thanks to JTA reader Jeremy S. for the image and report!
Big Box retail and The Black Series 6″ collecting community are apparently waking up to the egregiously and laughably priced 6″ “deluxe” figures line that are $30 each. Jar Jar Binks, Boba Fett, and Din Djarin should all be $19.99, not a penny more. Likewise, Teebo (Ewok), Yoda, and Jawa shouldn’t be a penny less than $19.99. Is everyone done being fooled? Hasbro needs to figure out how to amortize costs for large and small characters by budgeting the line better My local Target marked down the unforgivably priced Jar Jar Binks “deluxe” figure down to $20.99 just a couple of weeks after it hit their stores.
