We’ve been asked by our @SWTVC friends on Instagram to participate again in their yearly March Madness TVC event! While not an official Hasbro event, several key members of the Star Wars team have let us know they follow this each year. In the past, many top figures in the tournament have become action figures shortly thereafter. If you are an O96 OG, or a modern media fan, use this chance to rally others to your cause! Click here for the rules and to leave a comment with your top 25 new TVC figures.
This week’s “Bring Home The Galaxy” reveals include a (re)release of a Vintage Collection AT-ST with Chewbacca figure! And as usual other merchandise such as yet another Seagate hard drive, a messenger bag or a Darth Vader blanket are also new products you can purchase. Are you excited for The Vintage Collection AT-ST? Or does the one (or two, or three) you already have still suffice?
Since the late 70’s, the Star Wars toys Kenner, and then Hasbro, made were for kids. The current line-up of Hasbro toys, however, are adult collectibles. Perhaps no recent figure makes that more apparent than the Deluxe Boba Fett (Tatooine) release. At $28, it is unlikely that the average parent would make that purchase for a child or even teenage collector. Expensive action figures are not unprecedented, nor are adult collectible 1/18 scale lines. How does Hasbro measure up? Can they compete in this market, and how does this gateway figure compare to other similarly expensive lines? More…
We’re thrilled to again participate in @SWTVC’s March Madness event! In January our readers, along with 400 other collectors submitted their top 25 most wanted TVC figures. Thanks to the help of the folks running SWTVC, we now have a compiled bracket with the top 64 figures from those 400 lists. They have been pitted head to head to see who the most wanted action figure is! You can find a hi-res blank bracket here. Once completed, share your bracket in our comments so that @SWTVC can compile the number one winners from across the board!
The Tested Youtube channel by Adam Savage (ex-Mythbuster) got its hands on a Razor Crest and a 30 minute video was posted earlier today in which the Razor Crest gets unboxed and put together by co-host Norm. The Tested guys are huge Star Wars fans, Adam Savage, as you may know, worked for ILM and also on the prequel movies back in the day and he has several videos on his channel about Star Wars, either making impressive prop replicas from scratch or reviewing (high end) collectibles like a $1000 Rancor or a Lego Millennium Falcon. So if you want to know what to expect from your own Razor Crest in all detail or if you want to feel wistful about not buying one from HasLab: click through to watch the full video!
I’ve had some recent downtime to digest and assess Hasbro’s most outstanding accomplishments for The Vintage Collection 3.75-inch basic figure line for 2021. I analyzed figures from both the mainline and retailer exclusives to come up with my Top 10 The Vintage Collection Figures Of 2021. Click through for my countdown!
JTA has been invited to participate in the @SWTVC March Madness bracket again this year! In preparation, we are asking our readers to list their top 25 The Vintage Collection wants. Click here to find instructions and to leave your comments.
GameSpot has revealed four new figures available for preorder on September 24th, 2021. Check out their article for the main reveal. What do you think of these repaints? As far as gimmicks go, this one is pretty good!
We were floored by the announcement of the Stormtrooper build-up pack yesterday. Hasbro let us know that they plan to continue with releases in that format, which begs the obvious question… What battle packs do you want to see next? The stormtrooper set is a great place to start, but this new option provides so many opportunities that we’d be remiss if we didn’t talk about some of those possibilities.
There’s been quite a bit of squawking about placing Genndy Tartakovsky Clone Wars figures on classic Kenner-inspired packaging. Our friends at Blue Milk put together a concept that borrows elements from Kenner’s classic Droids and Ewoks lines. Ultimately, it appears to make more sense for an animated series to get packaging that mimics past animated toy lines. What do you think? Would the packaging represented below gone over better for those who criticized the standard The Vintage Collection packaging?
Hasbro, it has come to our attention that you may not understand the whole point of The Ninety Six Kenner figures that most The Vintage Collection collectors are dying to see you complete for the line. (more….)
Are any other The Vintage Collection collectors growing weary of the current Hasbro team’s complete ineptitude for the line? (more….)
Now that Hasbro designed the stunning Boba Fett (VC186) figure, it’s time to amortize that figure’s tooling by producing all the other variations of Boba Fett in the Star Wars universe. Click through for a dozen suggestions for Hasbro. It will help them save on tooling costs and make collectors happy at the same time.
The Vintage Colletion receives several brand new Mandalorian figures! And we got a glimpse of a few upcoming reveals in the TVC pipeline! Click through for more!
UPDATED: Photos and additional info added!
I need your honest opinion and input about something. I had a heated back and forth with a good friend of mine on the color of The Vintage Collection’s Kithaba (Skiff Guard)’s original headband. If you recall, Hasbro changed it to red to be screen-accurate. But what color was the first version? Click through for more….
Do you like sports? Do you hate sports? Either way you will enjoy this March Madness bracket because it’s all about The Vintage Collection! @swtvc on Instagram is running a bracket this month to see what the most wanted TVC figures are. You can find blank templates at swtvc.net. I’ve already filled out my bracket, and I’ll be posting it in the comments. I’d love to see yours! Be sure to fill them out and vote in @swtvc‘s polls this month and see how you did!
OK Hasbro, let’s play a game. And it’s probably going to come across as “let’s make a deal.” There is a lot of conspiracy theory, inconsistency, and no follow-through when it comes to The Vintage Collection versus The Black Series line. But one thing is certain. Collectors of super-articulated 3.75″ action figures are growing increasingly frustrated, to the point of weariness. You’ve admitted that the interest in The Vintage Collection and the excitement expressed by collectors has overwhelmed you. You, in so many words, said that you were impressed by the community’s passion in the line and that you’d be doing more for us as time moved forward. That hasn’t come to pass, unfortunately. So, here is what we’re proposing. How about, for one whole product year, you produce whatever you do for The Black Series [Phase IV] 6-inch line for The Vintage Collection 3.75-inch line? (more…)
This is it, folks! We know it’s being made, we got all the unlock tiers, and it’s now the final day to back the Razorcrest! Get on over to Hasbropulse today to back one for yourself! Like the sail barge, this is Haslab exclusive, so if you don’t back it today, you’re likely to pay aftermarket prices a year from now. Don’t forget, too, if you’re one of our overseas readers you can back through Zavvi. This is going to be the biggest Haslab yet! Way to show how much we care about The Vintage Collection!
The Razor Crest is only a very short time away from reaching 13,000 backers, which unlocks the carbonite blocks. And now Hasbro added another two additional unlocks. What could they be? Lights? Another figure, maybe Kuiil? What do you think the two additional unlocks will be? Leave your guess in the comments!
UPDATE: The Razor Crest now has 13,000 backers and the third tier is unlocked. Unlock #4 will probably be revealed later tonight.
In today’s Mando Monday livestream the painted Razor Crest was revealed for the very first time. Is the ship vac metalized? No. Does it still look very nice? Decide for yourself! Click through to see the Razor Crest in all its glory, we have a ton of photos for you!
Wow! Take a look at that! It appears Hasbro has heard the cries of many OT fans for a definitive ROTJ Boba Fett. This one has been a long time coming. It look like they have taken the new 6″ TBS Boba and shrunk it down to the right size. I’ll certainly be pre-ordering this one. What about you? Click here to see more photos.
JTA regular Darth Rizzen found the Target exclusive Galaxy’s Edge Millennium Falcon in the new toy catalogue of French toy store PicWic toys. No other TVC products are in the catalogue, but the Millennium Falcon can be yours in France if you are willing to part with 450 euros, which is about $530 at current exchange rates.
Here in Germany you can find the vehicle at the usual etailers. One etailer here wants “only” 440 euros ($517) but pre-orders are already all sold out, another one wants a whopping 500 euros ($588). Is the Millennium Falcon available in your country too? And how much would you be willing to pay for it?

Entertainment Earth is starting some trouble on Instagram. They’re asking for Star Wars fans to vote on their favorite Star Wars line: The Black Series 6″ line, or The Vintage Collection. As of this post, The Vintage Collection is forging ahead of the 6″ line. What will the end result be? Most people who collect TVC aren’t even on Instagram (unempirical data assessment). It will be interesting to see how all this pans out!
The Vintage Collection fans get an all-new playset! That’s certainly the biggest news. But there are also a few new/updated characters coming to the line! Click through for all the details! Look for everything announced today from TVC to go up for pre-order today at 4 PM Eastern!
Two figures were revealed for the Vintage Collection today. Commander Wolffe and K-2SO! Click through for the photos and some infos!
