Here’s the review! It’s a crying shame where The Vintage Collection is at today. The Special Action Figure Set (Cave Of Evil) isn’t the worst thing Hasbro’s done, but it’s like the manifestation of salt in the wound. Hasbro, we have to chat. Thank you for providing us definitive updates of the Luke Skywalker (Yavin) and Princess Leia Organa (Yavin) figures. You did a fantastic job on them, and the enhancements you made to the figures are appreciated. But did you realize you produced these characters as they appeared at the very end of Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope? You forgot to update these characters in their outfits at the BEGINNING of the film. We made it easy for you. We provided images of the figures you neglected to update. Click through for more!

Nothing new was revealed at the Hasbro SDCC Star Wars breakfast event, but Hasbro did show things like the Hyperreal Vader and newly revealed Sith Trooper, they also had the SDCC exlusive “Jedi Destiny” three pack on display. Here is a high resolution photo of the three figures in the pack. Let’s hope there will be individual releases later down the road.

After the recent article about Star Wars trending on Google, I thought it might be fun to take a closer look at how various Star Wars characters are trending on Google, both old and new. The results may make some people happy, others not so much, some of the results are certainly surprising! Some spoilers: Russia loves Kylo Ren! Japan loves droids! One canceled item that genuinely devastated me was from Hasbro’s 2010 Legacy Collection line. The Star Wars #2 Comic Packs set which included a “white” Luke Skywalker (Snowspeeder Pilot) and kit-bashed Han Solo (Bespin Outfit) never made it out. Not even Entertainment Earth saved them in their exclusive “save the Comic Packs” case assortment. It’s safe to assume that I don’t need the Han Solo figure, but I would be lying if I told you I still didn’t dream about that Luke Skywalker figure. But how about you? Would you like to see either figure released?

Do you need the Retro Collection NOW? eBay seller tunghori has them for $9.99 and Grand Moff Tarkin for $14.99! Get them while you can if you’re interested!

We have a sneak peek of the first wave of Retro Collection figures for you to see. I love these things. But what a shame that Hasbro didn’t launch this line for the 40th anniversary of Star Wars. I hope they take the line as far as possible. Droids, Ewoks, unproduced vintage Kenner figures are only the beginning. And I would LOVE to see 1985 The Power Of The Force figures added as well. Right now they’re exclusively available at TARGET beginning May 12th, but they will have more widespread availability later this year in the Fall. Check them out and leave your thought about them in our review pages!

Without a doubt, the best The Vintage Collection reveal for me is the convention exclusive Luke Skywalker three-pack. This set is the treatment the greatest hero of the Star Wars saga deserves. But I can’t help but think one way this set could have been improved. (more….)

Getting through “Barge Week” was arduous, but it was well worth it. Now that we got that out of the way, we wanted to redirect your attention to a set Hasbro produced over a decade ago that is essential to help complement your Jabba’s Sail Barge (The Khetanna). During 2008’s The Legacy Collection run, Hasbro released the Battle At The Sarlacc Pit Battle Packs set. It gave us our first-ever 3.75″ version of the Sarlacc Pit. It also included a repainted Skiff and five pack-in figures with the worst paint jobs we’ve ever seen. We’ve revisited the review with a massive 120-image gallery, revised text in the review and an Editor’s Note which explains that we do have a Sail Barge now. Anyway, please check out the new images, and see why you may want to consider this for your collection if you don’t have it!
