As the rumors regarding a potential Obi-Wan Kenobi standalone film starring Ewan McGregor continue to swirl, a lot of fans have wondered if we may see the return of Qui-Gon Jinn in this rumored film. Yahoo Movies UK had the chance to ask Liam Neeson about returning to the role of Qui-Gon. Neeson said, ““This is the first time I’m hearing of this, no one’s been in touch with me. I know in the Star Wars world anything is possible. In the first one, The Phantom Menace, I died but we know, you know, Jedis come back and stuff but no one’s been in touch. We’ll see.” It’s not surprising that Neeson would be open to returning to Star Wars. More than most actors, Neeson has spoken very highly of his time in Star Wars and even voiced Qui-Gon in Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Would you like to see Liam Neeson and Qui-Gon return in a Kenobi film to mentor his former Padawan? Let us know!
JTA reader Richard P. sends us a cool store report from Fred Meyer in Lacey Washington. Unbelievably they’re getting in kicker displays full of The Black Series [Phase III] Emperor’s Royal Guard wave which also includes Lando Calrissian, Tusken Raider and the revised K-2SO (among others). To date this case assortment has barely made an appearance at retail, so maybe they’re finally beginning to hit now.
Entertainment Earth is sending out emails notifying readers that their orders for The Black Series [Phase III] Qui-Gon Jinn are being cancelled. The message reads “We have been notified by the manufacturer that we will not be receiving any additional shipments of Star Wars The Black Series Qui-Gon Jinn 6-Inch Action Figure, (Item HSC2141), because they have discontinued production of this item at this point in time.” If you still need this figure or your order has been cancelled, this figure is still IN STOCK with Prime at Amazon.
I asked Matthew H. from Star Wars Black Series 6″ Collectors Facebook page if I could share these images here at JTA. While it’s obviously just a mistake, it’s painful nonetheless because of the rarity these things show up in stock for normal MSRP. Look what he received in place of the two figures he should have received instead. That’s got to be a punch to the gut!
When we report things that Hasbro directly say to us at conventions as tidbits of new information or confirmation, the doubt that still remains within the collecting community perplexes us. JTA reader Paul G. sends us proof of what unequivocally MUST BE multiple solid case packs of Qui-Gon Jinn. Maybe Amazon didn’t get them yet because they’re showing up at ThinkGeek stores instead. We don’t know as that’s just a guess, but the takeaway here is that Hasbro was completely right that ALL The Black Series 6″ figures going forward will be available in solid case packs (until that directive changes). Case closed, no pun intended RFG. Click through for more information.
If you were fortunate enough to collect when The Legacy Collection launched, you were aware of some awesome products Hasbro reissued. They were so good that we bought them a second time. The Jedi Legacy Evolutions set was one of these reissues. Find out more in our Research Droids Reviews today. I’ve been seeing them come in and out every few minutes. I know Qui-Gon and Lando are there now, but keep checking.
How did all of you make out pre-ordering/ordering wave 11 the last couple of days? There was a LOT of doubt from many who didn’t believe these would be avaialble in solid case packs like we confidently confirmed. But just like we advised, all figures were available in this format. I hope you all got what you wanted! This wave will hopefully get slaughtered on the aftermarket now. There have been plenty produced, so please don’t pay more than MSRP for these four figures (Qui-Gon Jinn, Imperial Royal Guard, Lando Calrissian and Tusken Raider).
It look like something rather IMPORTANT is missing from JTA reader Ray M.’s latest The Black Series [Phase III] Qui-Gon Jinn (40) acquisition from ThinkGeek in Humble TX, which is just northeast of Houston. Can you guess what it is? We’ll let Hasbro slide here. This is new technology that we hope only gets better with time. What eyes you have! Or is it “what eyes do you have”?
Pre-order (Royal Guard, Lando, Tusken Raider and Qui-Gon) wave 11 on Amazon RIGHT NOW! Special thanks to Jeff D. and darthvaderdisco for the quick alerts!
UPDATE: It seems to be a similar situation to yesterday, frequently coming in and out of stock. I suggest enabling 1-click and just keep refreshing.
