Rumor Reports

A few days ago Jeff Sneider, who has a pretty good track record when it comes to Star Wars scoops, reported that The Mandalorian season 4 would be turned into a theatrical movie instead. Following this report sources contacted both Bespin Bulletin and Making Star Wars, who are also scoopers with a really good track record, and told them that Sneider reported old news and that turning The Mandalorian into a movie was merely an option Lucasfilm considered, depending on how badly the Hollyood strike would affect things, but that The Mandalorian season 4 will ultimately NOT be turned into a movie. Instead, Bespin Bulletin reports that season 4 will begin filming early next year, most likely in February or late January and is still scheduled for a 2025 release, probably in the summer, if season 4 also spends about 12 months in post production like season 3. Let's Enter The Star Wars Rumor Zone

I feel it is time to discuss the latest rumors regarding Disney, Lucasfilm and Star Wars currently making waves. Maybe you have heard of the rumors, maybe you have not. In a nutshell: rumors state that Disney is in such a dire financial state (meaning, they have little cash, not that they are actually bankrupt) that the upcoming 2024 Hulu deal will require Disney to sell off assets so they can actually afford the deal. Hulu is currently still owned by Disney and Comcast, with Comcast having a minority stake in the company, and there is an agreement between Disney and Comcast that Disney buys Comcast’s part of Hulu. And said deal is supposed to happen in 2024. Now the big problem is that Comcast and Disney fundamentally disagree on the value of Hulu, it will not surprise anyone that Comcast has very different ideas about the value of Hulu and that Disney wants to pay much less than Comcast is asking for. So the deal is in arbitration where a third party will try to settle the question of Hulu’s actual market worth. And this is where the rumors begin, because in order to finance the deal Disney may have to resort to some drastic measures…

If you do not care for rumors that are probably just wishful thinking you need not bother, this is not for you… everyone else, let’s have some fun in the Star Wars Rumor Zone and click through!

We’ve rumored since November that Zeb would be released as a deluxe figure in The Black Series, and this confirms our suspicions. It is a deluxe figure retailing for $34.99 at Gamestop (and most likely other retailers). Also listed are upcoming TVC figures that were on Amazon for a short time, as well as the rebels crew repacks for TBS. Thanks to Robbert in a Black Series collecting group on Facebook for the images. Pop culture magazine “Exclumagazine” posted a photo of two new SH Figuarts Star Wars figures that may or may not come later this year. A Beskar armor Mandalorian and the “Child” aka Baby Yoda (which would most likely be an accessory). Please take this with a heavy dosage of salt. Nothing is confirmed, but the Beskar Mandalorian looks legit, he even has the SHF pinhead syndrome that many of their helmeted characters suffer from. There has been a conspicuous absence of announcements from SH Figuarts in recent times, so some new figure reveals would be welcome. Would you add the SHF version of a Beskar armor Mandalorian to your collection? Or would you rather wait for the inevitable Hasbro version?

Rumor: Obi-Wan Series Is Coming, For Real This Time?

Since we all love rumors so much, here’s a report from website Cinelinx, which got the same info from two independent sources: apparently Ewan McGregor has signed a contract for an Obi-Wan series on Disney+. And yes, this is yet unverified, but this particular rumor, that Disney will produce an Obi-Wan series, has been circulating for a long time now, apparently production was set up already a while ago. This new story is widely reported by various news outlets tonight, but Cinelinx is the original source here, everyone else just quotes them.
If there will be an Obi-Wan series then we may expect Disney to announce something at D23. It is absolutely certain that there will be more live action Star Wars shows on Disney+, Obi-Wan would be a logical choice, since fans have been wanting to see Ewan McGregor to return as the Jedi master for a long time now. We’ll keep you posted! And with the Mandalorian and Cassian Andor it would be a good choice to have a show which features at least one Force user and lightsabers. Would you be looking forward to an Obi-Wan Series? And if you haven’t made up your mind yet about Disney Plus, would an announcement make you subscribe to the new streaming service?

Latest TBS6 [P3] Wave Makes Its Way To New York

I’m not exactly sure where they got it from yet, but a seller on in New York had a case of the latest wave of The Black Series 6″ that included Luke (Jedi Master), Rey (Jedi Training), Jaina Solo, Resistance Tech Rose, and Supreme Leader Snoke on Mercari. He sold them for a reasonable $23 price tag also. They could be popping up anytime now for pre-order, so keep an eye out! Another seller in Wisconsin also had the newest Funko Movie Moments, so that’s another item to keep an eye out for.

We often talk about what figures we’d like to see Hasbro re-release in The Black Series 6″ line. And we often come up with some great ideas. But in the midst of new Disney Star Wars Entertainment, it makes perfect sense that some previously released figures that have appeared in The Force Awakens should probably get out again for The Last Jedi. (more….)

We are quite fond of The Black Series [Phase III] Centerpiece Collection sets Hasbro has released this year on Force Friday II. They provide beautiful scenery and a great backdrop for the 6″ figures while introducing static figures a lot like the former Unleashed figures into the mix as well. With the release of Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker in this line already, we believe there are two characters are sorely missing from this line that we should probably expect to see in this format soon. Kylo Ren and Rey would make two important character releases in this format, no?

We know that there are THREE (3) waves of The Black Series [Phase III] 6″ line in 2017 from Force Friday II onward. Jaina Solo (Legends) and Resistance Tech Rose make up this third wave, but wouldn’t it be great if there was one more to round out the year? (more….)

The Dark Lord Of The Sith In The Han Solo Movie???

A recent rumor has popped up claiming that someone was seen on set wearing the famous suit during filming. There are no images of this as of now, but according to comicbookmovie.com their source is reliable. The question is, do we NEED Darth Vader in the Han Solo movie? Yes…He was used expertly in Rogue One and some may argue he had some of the best scenes, but I personally don’t think he should be stuck in every anthology film just for the sake of using him. It may water down the impact that Vader has. What are your thoughts on this rumor? Do you think we really need to see Vader in this film? In other news, Ron Howard teases us with a possible Kessel Run. Check out more of that info here at CBR.com

What Is This, "Prae" Tell?

Collectors of an enlarged scale of action figures are probably going to start seeing red. Literally. Imagine a matrix of myopic proportions making its way to your collection exclusively. The question is, will you be able to tell them apart?

Does there exist any relevance between Yoda and Obi-Wan Kenobi and Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi? Rumors abound that this may indeed be true and that we could see something related to this in the merchandising of the film. Stay tuned for more.

We are talking “pre-return of TVC” here. We all knew that giving Walmart the exclusive TBS [P3] 3.75″ super-articulated basic figure line was probably the debacle of the ages. In fact, it may have been the worst decision for the health of the SA 3.75″ Star Wars line even beyond The Phantom Menace 3D decisions made in 2012. (more….)
