The Star Wars “Saga” line is officially two decades old. We’re revisiting all of the figures that made up this unprecedented lineup. Today, we continue with 2002’s Star Wars “Saga” [Phase I] Plo Koon (Arena Battle) (’02 #12) figure. The Black Series [Phase III] 6″ collectors are getting a taste of what happens to a long-running Star Wars line. And they better get used to more! Hasbro has to meet budgets, and in order to meet budgets, reusing existing tooling is a requirement. The “Attack Of The Clones” wave is essentially the first “repack, refreshed, and repaint” wave for the 6″ line. but 3.75″ collectors are used to them. Hasbro promised more action figure reveals at various European conventions, and after Paris and London they now revealed two all new Black Series figures at the Lucca Comics & Games convention in Italy!
Prequel fans have been asking for more Jedi for years now, and it seems Hasbro is finally willing to deliver: meet Kit Fisto and Plo Koon, two of the most favorite prequel Jedi! Now while the headsculpts are all new, of course, the hands as well, it seems both figures re-use the Obi Wan and Mace Windu body, which is a bit unfortunate, but nevertheless, we finally get more Jedi and more (humanoid) aliens in the line! The 104th Battalion Ultimate Gift Set is BACK IN STOCK at TARGET.com. You can see our own review on these figures HERE. I remember this showing up on TARGET.com a couple of years ago for about $50, but the price has been adjusted back to its normal MSRP of $29.99. A cursory eBay search will prove to you that these sets average about $75 on the aftermarket and some of the clones in this set go for $30 each loose.
