One of the few Jedi trained after the fall of the Empire and an early member of the emerging Rebel movement, Ezra Bridger vanished in the battle to liberate Lothal, disappearing into deep space.

Hasbro hasn’t perfectly synced up releasing figures based on the same characters from The Vintage Collection and The Black Series line at a 1:1 ratio, but they’ve tried their darndest. It took a while, but Kanan Jarrus and Ezra Bridger are officially part of The Vintage Collection, and both are impressive works of art. If there is a downside for Ezra Bridger (Hero of Lothal), it’s that Hasbro based the character on its Star Wars: Ahsoka appearance instead of Star Wars: Rebels. And that is even a stretch because, technically, this character doesn’t exist. We only see Ezra Bridger (Hero of Lothal) as a hologram, and not realistically, so at best, this version of Ezra Bridger is a Hasbro concept. They also took the same approach for The Black Series 6-inch version. Ezra Bridger (Hero of Lothal) is a great-looking action figure with the latest technology Hasbro implemented in the 3.75-inch super-articulated action figure line.

The figure has a stupendous articulation system and a stunning paint job. And Hasbro included enough accessories here to make the most discriminating collector happy. We only wish Hasbro included the signature square-shaped hilt and blue blade that we all associate with Ezra Bridger. Hopefully, the version based on the likeness from Star Wars: Rebels is forthcoming and will meet all our standards. Characters from the Rebels universe are often very colorful, and the same is true for Ezra Bridger (Hero of Lothal). The figure comes with earthy brown pants, but the shirt is bright orange-red with yellow upper body armor. And then the green-bladed lightsaber helps pull everything together. The actor who portrayed Ezra Bridger (Hero of Lothal) in the Ahsoka series looked goofy. The action figure has a more serious facial expression, presenting an unexpected effect. The Photo Real deco is mostly on point, and the tooled details, like the holster, bring depth and dimension to a mostly two-dimensional character.

We only wish the figure had a holocron projector. However, we don’t see how this action figure will be useful to anyone’s collection. Unless you’re planning to develop your Expanded Universe scenes, again, this interpretation of the character doesn’t exist in any Star Wars series. The card art for Ezra Bridger (Hero of Lothal) is a little boring. The one scene in which the holographic image of the character appears is brief, and there aren’t many options for the character photo if Hasbro had decided to create a composite image instead. It probably would have turned out more interesting had they gone that route. Another nugget of detail we noticed is that Hasbro recently added subtitles with lowercase prepositions and other insignificant words. We don’t recall the nameplate ever showing a lowercase letter in The Vintage Collection, or the Kenner line, for that matter. Again, it’s just an observation and should not be taken too seriously. Despite criticisms, Ezra Bridger (Hero of Lothal) is a decent action figure.
