The Star Wars Retro Collection is inspired by the 1980s STAR WARS figures and features original figure design and detailing! Continue your collection from the galaxy far, far away!

It almost feels ungodly that collectors find brand-new characters from the Disney Star Wars universe on shelves in the Retro Collection before The Vintage Collection. But this is our lot in life, for we're made to suffer. It's okay enough to be force-fed characters from the awful, dreadful Disney Star Wars universe that no longer considers its primary audience; we must receive subpar action figures with poor design and minimum articulation as assets to our collections. And we're supposedly supposed to be grateful for them. We're not sure what new Star Wars collectors have interest in the Retro Collection line. Hasbro designed this line for longtime Star Wars collectors, but they turned their back on the Original Trilogy in this format. We only get those characters during anniversaries. In the interim, we get the latest Star Wars entertainment in this line, and it takes months to years to get the super-articulated versions of these characters in other formats. General Hera Syndulla looks good for what it is. Hasbro recreated this Twi'lek's signature costume well, including orange pants and a brown leather bomber jacket. And they remembered the goggles resting on the top of the head, too. The paint operations are simple, but Hasbro did include the more complex emblems on the shoulders and back of the jacket, which feels inconsistent with what Kenner might have provided if this action figure was produced in the 70s or 80s. The packaging, however, is gorgeous. We adore the purple accents, including the nameplate and figure backer. This action figure will capture the attention of some fans, but you should wait until this figure ends up pennies on the dollar at your local Ollie's chain.
