To go behind enemy lines, the Mandalorian must disguise himself. He finds a solution that allows him to follow the Way and not reveal his face: an Imperial combat driver uniform.
It took Hasbro long enough, but we finally have the Din Djarin (Morak) character in The Black Series 6-inch line. They gave us Migs Mayfeld a while back, but many other action figures came and went before this one saw the light of day. That said, the antiquated articulation they worked into this new figure still feels like a wrong turn, but reusing parts is something collectors of the line will have to accept as Hasbro continues making our toys. It’s important to point out that Din Djarin (Morak) is screen-accurate, unlike the Migs Mayfeld (Morak) action figure. This figure has a red armband, and Mayfeld does not have this detail on the costume in the episode. The Mandalorian wears the outfit with the red armband in that episode. Despite the figure’s shortcomings, Din Djarin (Morak) looks nice and is a decent addition to the line. In addition to the removable helmet, the figure comes with a blaster that fits into the newly tooled holster part of the new belt/skirt portion of the uniform. You’ll likely appreciate this figure in your collection and overlook its imperfections. The figure’s facial paint operations are excellently applied and show us what they can do in this scale. Collectors will probably appreciate this figure despite the “archaic” articulation system (especially in the legs) and the deco issues. Din Djarin (Morak) comes with 27 points of articulation across 16 points. The double hinge-jointed knees are a royal pain in the butt, and we didn’t realize this until revisiting this tooling, but the ball-jointed/” rocker” ankles must have been in their infancy when Hasbro designed them. They get stuck easily, and there isn’t enough surface area on the soles of the feet that balance out the figure’s “center of gravity” well. You have to precariously pose this figure to prevent it from falling to the ground. But if you have experience with The Black Series 6-inch line, you’re probably an expert on quickly remedying this issue. This figure is required for the 6-inch line, so it’s nice to see it finally released.
Status: Din Djarin (Morak) is a retool of 2022's TBS [P4] Migs Mayfeld (TM15) figure. This time the figure comes with an all-new portrait.
