HASBRO EXPANDS TOY LINE BASED ON THE HUGELY POPULAR STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS ANIMATED TV SERIES


PAWTUCKET, R.I., (February 13, 2009) – Young Padawans who were introduced to a “galaxy far, far away” with STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS will take their training in the Force to the next level in 2009! As kids follow the weekly animated series, they can re-create their favorite scenes with the help of Hasbro’s growing line of THE CLONE WARS-inspired action figures and toys.

In 2009, Hasbro will introduce a host of new STAR WARS 3-3/4-INCH CLONE WARS BASIC FIGURES, allowing STAR WARS fans to stage incredible battles with an expanding assortment of action figures based on STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS characters. Kids can help shift the battle in the Republic’s favor with the CLONE TURBO TANK, an enormous vehicle playset also coming out this year. For those fans seeking larger-than-life role-play action, the new ULTIMATE CLONE COMMANDER BLASTER and CAPTAIN REX ELECTRONIC HELMET provide authentic-looking gear and cool electronic effects.

Beyond THE CLONE WARS, Hasbro will expand its STAR WARS collection with several other exciting new offerings, including a brand new 2-in-1 lightsaber that features a secondary lightsaber hidden in its hilt!


STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS products available in 2009

CLONE TURBO TANK
(Approximate Retail Price: $99.99; Ages: 4 & up; Available: Fall 2009)
The next generation of STAR WARS fans are being introduced to the STAR WARS galaxy via the must-see animated series STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS airing on Cartoon Network. As a follow-up to the popular AT-TE vehicle that topped Christmas lists in 2008, the CLONE TURBO TANK is an enormous field vehicle from the animated series, designed to transport up to twenty clone troopers (sold separately) into battle. The TURBO TANK features electronic sounds, running lights, phrases from the animation, a hidden, launchable speeder bike and a removable command center.


STAR WARS 3-3/4-INCH THE CLONE WARS BASIC FIGURES

(Approximate Retail Price: $7.99; Ages: 4 & up; Available: Fall 2009) In 2008, Hasbro introduced an array of action figures based on the hugely popular STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS TV series. This year, Hasbro will release dozens of new figures based on characters from THE CLONE WARS entertainment, including Kit Fisto, Mace Windu and Commander Gree. Each figure comes equipped with action features or accessories, allowing fans to re-create their favorite scenes from the TV series.

ULTIMATE CLONE COMMANDER BLASTER
(Approximate Retail Price: $39.99; Ages: 5 & up; Available: Fall 2009) Every clone knows the key to success is choosing the right tools. The ULTIMATE CLONE COMMANDER BLASTER puts that decision in its owner’s hands. Kids can prepare for any mission with this customizable blaster that lets them create three unique Clone weapons – a pistol, blaster and rifle – and features lights and sounds that change depending on the selected mode. With this truly unique 3-in-1 blaster, kids will be able save the galaxy one mission at a time!

CAPTAIN REX ELECTRONIC HELMET
(Approximate Retail Price: $39.99; Ages: 5 & up; Available: Fall 2009)
Lead the clone army as CAPTAIN REX by donning his authentic STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS CAPTAIN REX ELECTRONIC HELMET, as seen in the new STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS animation. This helmet is styled after the one worn by CAPTAIN REX and features an antenna with a working light, internal and external speakers and a voice amplifier. The internal speaker is programmed with seven Jedi command phrases delivered by Anakin and Yoda that direct CAPTAIN REX on his missions, while the external speaker plays eleven signature commands and phrases, allowing CAPTAIN REX to communicate with his clone army. The external speaker plays CAPTAIN REX dialogue taken right from the series, such as “The name’s Rex, but you can call me Captain or Sir” and “You’re exactly the kind of men I need in the 501st”. The internal voice amplifier allows the wearer to disguise his own voice and deliver additional commands as if he were the clone army captain.

STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS DELUXE VEHICLES

Take the CLONE WARS adventure to the intergalactic skies with new THE CLONE WARS DELUXE VEHICLES. These imposing vehicles are loaded with mechanical play features that allow kids to re-imagine the action they see in THE CLONE WARS episodes each week right in their own homes. Slated for release this year are the Y-wing and Arc 170, two vehicles playing key roles throughout The Clone Wars.

STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS DELUXE VEHICLE & FIGURE
(Approximate Retail Price: $15.99; Ages 4 & up; Available: Fall 2009)
In 2009, eight DELUXE VEHICLE & FIGURE packs based on scenes from THE CLONE WARS animation will fly into stores. Each STAR WARS DELUXE VEHICLE & FIGURE pack features one STAR WARS vehicle and an accompanying action figure, both designed in the iconic 3-3/4-inch scale. These smaller scale vehicles provide an exciting way to play out the action of STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS.

STAR WARS R2-D2 RADIO CONTROL
(Approximate Retail Price: $29.99; Ages: 4 & up; Available: Fall 2009)
You don’t need to have Jedi mind powers to control this droid! This 6-inch scale remote control R2-D2 is styled in the unique animated look of THE CLONE WARS series. Using a fun, STAR WARS-themed remote, kids can move R2-D2 forward or reverse, turn him around, spin his head and even control his iconic sound effects.

STAR WARS DUEL ACTION LIGHTSABER
