Shin Hati is adept at lightsaber combat, a skill she uses as Baylan Skoll's eager apprentice in mercenary work for Morgan Elsbeth, the former Magistrate of Calodan.
If you follow Disney Star Wars, you’re likely following the various new shows they have on the Disney+ platform. Disney is hemorrhaging Star Wars fans like crazy, and it’s all because the storylines are subpar and the action amoebic at best. Despite this, Hasbro and Disney double down to produce characters based on this mediocre content, and there are enough “influencers” on social media to make easily swayed people believe that they should also be collecting this garbage. Shin Hati is another anonymous character in the dreadful hellscape known as Disney Star Wars. And the odd-looking actress who plays the character in Star Wars: Ahsoka is now part of The Vintage Collection. We’re unsure how many collectors are into this action figure for their collections. But since they made Morgan Elsbeth and Baylan Skoll, having Shin Hati in the 3.75-inch action figure line makes sense. Still, will enough people buy these action figures to support the line, or will these future store stock be at Ollie’s?
Like Baylan Skoll, even if you loathe everything about what Disney Star Wars produces these days, you can’t help but appreciate the artfulness Hasbro brought to the Shin Hati action figure. Once again, we feel Hasbro is giving The Black Series 6-inch line a run for its money. The 3.75-inch super-articulated action figures now look equal to what Hasbro produces on a 6-inch scale. And while the details aren’t at the same magnification level, the human eye can see how far technology has come to deliver the best action figures of our lifetime. We feel that Shin Hati has a very nice likeness to the actress. Maybe it’s not perfect, but neither is the 6-inch version. And the details in the other parts of the figure make up for where perhaps the figure falls short in the portrait. Like Baylan Skoll, Shin Hati is light on accessories. The figure comes with a hilt and a fully lit lightsaber.
What’s interesting about both action figures is that they have orangey-red lightsaber blades. That’s the color Sith Lords use, but these characters aren’t Sith or Jedi, but mercenaries instead. The story ties both characters to Morgan Elsbeth, and that figure was about as exciting to look at as growing grass. But that said, all three characters look splendid together and will undoubtedly make a couple of female collectors in the community happy. The card art looks fantastic. Unfortunately, Hasbro still misaligns the character photo a bit. The head of the character shouldn’t be skewed left or right in the space where the image is, but Hasbro does this consistently. However, Shin Hati’s card art looks nice and properly formatted. Like all of the latest action figures in The Vintage Collection, the beautiful reverse side of the card is full of color, a brief character bio, and a bad photographic image of the figure taken by a novice.
Status: Shin Hati is an all-new figure.
