How “off” are things in the Hasbro Star Wars brand that the first figure for the Disney Star Wars Andor series is relegated to exclusive status and retailer Walmart? Why wasn’t an opening wave of basic figures released to the general marketplace? And where is the new tooling? Cassian Andor (Aldhani Mission) is a kit-bashed figure which uses mostly existing parts. But the new head sculpt looks decent and helps tie everything together. What feels the most off about this figure is its paint job. The figure looks good to us, but compared to the still images in the Andor series, it feels like Hasbro got a lot of the coloring wrong, especially with the chest armor and the army green threads underneath. The action figure looks like it has black chest armor and a tan outfit underneath. It doesn’t appear right to us, but your opinions may vary. The figure has a decent articulation system despite its many reused parts. And it comes with a blaster that fits nicely into the provided holster. The hands on the figure are odd, probably due to old tooling; the wrist joint bows down and has difficulty holding the blaster upright in action poses. Star Wars collecting is not fun anymore. And it’s hard for us to get excited about a figure like Cassian Andor (Aldhani Mission) when we don’t have many other OT and PT characters. Disney Star Wars may interest fans as far as the shows are concerned, but it’s a different story regarding merchandising. Many don’t care about the new characters, and Hasbro doesn’t seem to get this. Cassian Andor (Aldhani Mission) is a Walmart exclusive with a laughable MSRP of $27.99.
