#wheresrose? Oh, we’re not doing that anymore? OK. The Galaxy Of Adventures line has exceeded our expectations. Hasbro’s been fair with the first wave of characters. It makes up an even split of Original Trilogy and Sequel Trilogy characters, so there is something for everyone interested in a new scale of Star Wars figures in a scale in between The Vintage Collection and The Black Series 6” line. Many feel that we need another scale of Star Wars figures like a hole in the head, but if you love the animated style of Star Wars characters, you’re going to love the Galaxy Of Adventures line. They’re large action figures that come with super-articulation and come with an adequate number of accessories to help playtime be more enjoyable for kids of all ages. Many have responded to the Galaxy Of Adventures line similarly to how longtime collectors reacted to the animated The Clone Wars figures line released in 2008. Those collectors who resisted The Clone Wars line in 2008 lived to regret it because the line became one of Hasbro’s most prolific. And they saved the best figures for last. We digress. You’re going to enjoy Galaxy Of Adventures, but you may enjoy Finn the most from the first wave.

The Galaxy Of Adventures Finn is the best interpretation of the character to date. It’s better than all of the 5POA version and better than any The Black Series [Phase III] 6” figure released to date as well. We’re quite shocked not to see Finn, Poe Dameron, or Rose Tico represented in the first wave of The Black Series [Phase III] 6” line for the Triple Force Friday launch, but at least some of these characters are coming in another format. Finn is truly a beautiful action figure. The animated approach captures all of the new features that his The Rise Of Skywalker outfit holds. When you compare this figure to some of the Episode IX images of Finn, you can see that Hasbro paid careful attention to the style of the character to ensure as much screen-accuracy as possible. For The Rise Of Skywalker, Finn takes on a strong “Han Solo” presence and stature. And the Galaxy Of Adventures figure, although in an animated style, captures this strongly. He comes with a removable vest. He comes with a long-sleeved shirt that is as much Han Solo as it is Luke Skywalker’s from Return Of The Jedi. And the unmistakable red blood stripe on his blue pants are ripped from the film cells of Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope.

Aside from the removable vest mentioned earlier, Finn comes with a Resistance blaster pistol and a backpack (which fits around his frame nicely). The accessories nicely accent the figure, which giving you something interesting to interact with the figure. All of the figures in the Galaxy Of Adventures line are beautifully painted. Finn is no exception. There is something remarkable about the paint operations applied to “animated” action figures. They appear extra clean and decorate the figures in an almost blemish-free application. There is some “sparkling” deco around his eye, which gives the figure an illusion that he’s wearing eyeshadow. But it’s not THAT bad. With 23 points of articulation, Finn has a fantastic range of movement, and the joints are tight and hold their place, yet are fluid as well. Finn also looks like he received a new hairstyle for Episode IX. It looks a tad exaggerated on the Galaxy Of Adventures figure, but it’s noticeably different than what we see him donning in The Force Awakens or The Last Jedi. Finn isn’t necessarily a popular character in Star Wars, and the merchandising based on him hasn’t done all that well. But hopefully, the Galaxy Of Adventures Finn will change that course a bit to correct it, because this is an excellent figure.
