The latest generation of Imperial super commandos are highly trained warriors protected by beskar alloy cast in the form of elite trooper armor.

Hasbro is raking in the cash, producing expensive versions of basic figures and hailing them as Deluxe. But this is where we are in the modern collecting era of The Vintage Collection. Hasbro fills the line with multiple characters that no one wants, except for a fringe population, and everything is beyond expensive. It is barely fun to collect Star Wars action figures anymore. The collector base is continually shrinking as time passes because Hasbro is pricing out its audience and core fan base. Is it possible that the Republic Commando figure comes with more accessories than the Imperial Armored Commando figure but costs half its price? Again, the line is in a state of distress, and we hope that Hasbro can recover at some point. However, there are too many fed-up collectors these days, and the products they overcharge for often lack quality or other shortcomings. Hopefully, the frustration doesn’t overshadow collectors’ interest in these high-quality action figures. There is no doubt that the Imperial Armored Commando is a gorgeous action figure despite our frustration.

The Imperial Armored Commando is an interesting choice for The Vintage Collection. They are specialized guards who served under Moff Gideon and have a notable role in The Mandalorian Disney+ series. The character is an interesting mix of Prequel Trilogy clone trooper and Original Trilogy stormtrooper with some (gasp!) It also incorporates elements from the Sequel Trilogy yet possesses some unique characteristics as well. The action figure is well-designed and well-made and will undoubtedly become a favorite among collectors. While it’s laughable that Hasbro designated this action figure as a Deluxe release, we should note that every single accessory in this package would easily fit in a standard card and bubble. We do not understand why Hasbro believes its audience is that dumb. With the latest articulation system and fluid movement in the joints, the Imperial Armored Commando is a pleasure to position. Our sample had a slight center of gravity issue. Still, we believe that with a bit of patience, any collector will be at ease posing this figure in various displays or dioramas.

The Imperial Armored Commando comes with six accessories. We get a beautifully sculpted electro-baton and shield. Think Riot Control officers or space Police Officers. That’s the vibe of this figure. Hasbro designed these two accessories well to interact with the figure. The shield slides onto the figure’s left arm and is then held in place by the cupped hand. And while the right hand is open a bit too much to accept the baton, with a little perseverance, you should be able to display your figure easily with it and come up with natural-looking positions. Hasbro also included a dagger here, but both the left and right hands are open too wide to hold onto it tightly. So, posing the figure with this knife is more frustrating than anything else. The jetpack is removable and comes with beautiful deco and sculpting. Lastly, we get two guns: a blaster rifle and a blaster pistol. There is a holster that hangs from the figure’s right side to accommodate the blaster pistol, but there are no other places on the figure to attach any other accessories. Overall, the Imperial Armored Commando is a nice action figure, but it’s severely overpriced.
