The Cloud-Rider gang led by Enfys Nest terrorizes the skies atop their mean-looking swoop bikes. Little more than engines with seats, swoops are hard to control but capable of incredible speed.
There is a new villain in town, and her name is Enfys Nest. With each new Disney Star Wars film made, a new antagonist is introduced, and with Solo: A Star Wars Story we have been introduced to the next character that will obviously play a thorn in Han Solo’s side. There were great reservations about the Solo: A Star Wars Story film throughout Star Wars fandom. Many believe that the less is known about a character, the better it is. Much like how Attack Of The Clones gave us Boba Fett’s backstory, the standalone films from Disney will be showing us events that transpired for our most beloved Star Wars characters. Yes, the criticism is constant about how the actor playing Han Solo doesn’t look like Harrison Ford at all, but the latest trailers have sparked new hope in the film, and it appears that most of the community decided that they’re going to give this film a chance. Hasbro released a small collection of toys and action figures based on the film, and they ensured that they got the most key figures out at product launch. The main villain: Enfys Nest at the moment is not coming on a basic figure card, but has been packaged with her swoop bike and added to the Class A vehicle assortment.
Enfys Nest is a great-looking, albeit simple, action figure. It’s not simple in detail, but simple in articulation. The inclusion of swivel forearms allows her to pilot the included Swoop Bike with relative ease. She sits on the bike with a natural look, and although it isn’t a perfect fit for her, it accomplishes what it needs to as a toy: a pilot riding her bike. The figure is loaded with detail and comes with soft-goods to make her interaction with the Swoop Bike ideal. Hasbro didn’t hold back any part of the color palette from what we can tell. And the figure has beautifully complex paint operations throughout its sculpt. Enfys Nest has Star Wars saga familiarity. She has strong The Force Unleashed qualities about her. It feels like parts of her were inspired from the Felucian Warriors in the game. She also has Mandalorian qualities as well. There is something very “tribal” about her look, outfit, and attitude that cannot escape this figure. She has “warrior” written all over her. Hasbro did a great job on Enfys Nest. But super-articulation lovers will be much more eager for The Vintage Collection version coming later in the year. And The Black Series 6” collectors can look forward to a 6” version with the swoop bike as well, also coming later in the year.
The ”star” of this set is supposed to be Enfys Nest's Swoop Bike, but collectors may beg to differ on that. Enfys Nest's Swoop Bike is a better-than-average vehicle in the Hasbro line, but it’s far from being a gem. This is not Hasbro’s fault. It’s just the design of the vehicle that leaves something else to be desired. We have seen countless speeders throughout Hasbro’s long line of toys. Some of the most impressive ones came out of the various The Clone Wars lines. While Enfys Nest's Swoop Bike is beautifully colored, its design is a bit weak. It hasn’t been cast in strong plastic, and it bows in spots, especially its long nose. It doesn’t feel like the plastic is breakable, but it certainly isn’t the same high-quality plastic made years ago. There are no firing projectiles and no compartments or opening hatches. It’s essentially a what-you-see-is-what-you-get type of vehicle. The only play feature offered here is the Force Link 2.0 functionality, but that isn’t “working” at the moment. Hasbro has updated their website letting customers know that Force Link 2.0 full capability will be available before May 1, 2018. There are so many things wrong with that, but we aren’t going there again.
