Did you guys have FUNmily?
Well I never soo much Nerf in my life.
How was this convention for a 1st time event? Will they do another one?
I know its not a Star Wars comment, but whats up with those vintage GI Joe figures? Were they just on display like museum pieces, or is there a vintage-style GI Joe line coming? Anyone know?
The Joe stuff was prototypes etc. The figures you see are the 2-up that they used for paint masters in china. They expanded on all of this during the panels. For instance they used bondo to sculpt the figures and Vacuum forming to make the vehicles lol.
Always funny to see yourself in pictures.
I wasn’t there obviously but it seems to have been a decently attended even for a first year con. I saw some footage of the sculptors booth or something with breakdowns of the figures by part and paint app and such and sculptors there to talk too which I would love to go to in person
Do you know what people were allowed to bring in for autographs? I almost went and if I did I would love to have a Falcon signed by Mark Boudreaux. Kinda big, though. I definitely wouldn’t mind having Peter Cullen and Frank Seller sign something Transformers for me, I’m just not sure what. For Stan Lee I could’ve just brought a comic. I have several silver age comics from when he was still writing. I really regret not going now. 🙁
I don’t, but my experience with cons is usually that if you can queue with it, you can have it signed. Good idea having Boudreaux sign a Falcon too
I met Boudreaux and got my Falcon signed. My vintage Falcon, what I did was bring the smuggling compartment piece and got that signed. But I didn’t go to this, was a while ago.
That’s actually a really good idea. I was thinking about bringing the whole ship, which was actually pretty stupid of me. Plus, what you did has his signature on the inside of the ship. As much as I admire the guy and the toys he designed, I wouldn’t want him to sign the outside of my vintage Falcon. Unfortunately I don’t have the smuggling compartment piece. I’m missing it and a few other pieces. If I get the chance I could use the ramp. Have him sign the inside of it.
Wow. They had a pretty impressive guest list there. I didn’t realize that. Curious to see how this expands next year. I wouldn’t mind going.
