Receive the transmitted details of your next bounty with The Black Series Holocomm Collection, featuring light-up holopucks.

We particularly enjoy now seeing Hasbro troll their beloved The Black Series 6-inch collectors, much like how they trolled 3.75-inch super-articulated collectors from 2013 onward. It is with utter disbelief that Hasbro is attempting to pull the wool over their dedicated collector base by introducing another smoke and mirrors sub-line that will do nothing but ultimately fail. Collectors can now welcome the Holocomm Collection into their collections, and it’s already been mocked as the Holo-con Collection for its pathetic marketing and cheap approach. The Holocomm Collection casts the tooling of existing and popular 6-inch figures in translucent purple plastic. Then, they designed a light-up “puck-shaped” base, which has some excellent blinking effects and casts light up the translucent action figure, creating a light-up effect. They also added an Aurebesh nameplate that attaches to the base, and everything works together nicely to provide a novelty, or gimmicky, action figure that your collection probably doesn’t need. Super-articulation is excellent, but a translucent figure is best cast without much articulation because the points of articulation are visible. They work against creating a seamless form, forcing it to look like a mechanical robot. They seem to focus on characters from The Mandalorian, and Bo-Katan Kryze is one of the inaugural releases. Bo-Katan Kryze is a Target exclusive with an MSRP of $29.99. These action figures are overpriced, and we don’t have hope this sub-line will have much life. Then again, stranger things have happened with this brand.
