The galaxy's most infamous and dangerous bounty hunter – as well as its most expensive – Boba Fett is a stoic hunter who is feared throughout the universe, and for good reason. An intimidating presence whose background is shrouded in mystery, Boba Fett furthers his mystique by masking his true identity behind modified Mandalorian armor.
In 1977, Star Wars magically transported millions of movie-goers to a galaxy far, far away. With its 3-Âľ"-scale figures, Kenner allowed kids of all ages to take pieces of that galaxy into their homes and forever changed the way children play with toys. As the Star Wars saga expanded and evolved over the last twenty + years, so did Hasbro-Kenner's action figure lines. It is with great pleasure that we celebrate these decades of fun with this Special Edition Star Wars 300th 3-Âľ" figure.
For collectors, at the turn of the century, the only thing more exciting than a new Star Wars film and a corresponding toy line that ran from 1999 until 2000 was the landmark that was reached the end of that year. Unbelievably, Kenner/Hasbro had 300 Star Wars action features under their belt and they decided to celebrate that with a Special Edition release. Episode I had completely wrapped up as a line. Many of the later products were either cancelled or became every increasingly difficult to locate. But with a revitalized mission and revamped approach, Hasbro made the Power Of The Jedi line all about collectors. Continuing with new and updated action figures of characters from Episode I, the line focused on the Original Trilogy and Expanded Universe which elated collectors everywhere. At the end of year one of Power Of The Jedi, Hasbro reached the aforementioned 300th basic action figure. Ironically, they decided to celebrate this release in packaging that didn’t reflect the nature of the landmark. However, something more powerful was needed as this was a very big deal. Many collectors actually counted out what they believed were all of the 299 previous action figures before Boba Fett (300th Figure), but the release of this figure was more of a celebration that Hasbro had hit that number, whether or not it was exactly the 300th figure or not.
Boba Fett (300th Figure) is truly a celebratory action figure. Hasbro has come so far since The Power Of The Force “2” line and has crafted an remarkable version of Boba Fett that will last for years, if not your collector lifetime. The sculpt is dynamic and the details carved into the sculpt are nothing short of impressive. And then the final paint operation are enough to take your breath away. What should be hailed as one of Hasbro’s finest achievements, Boba Fett (300th Figure) is a triumph in so many ways, and he only has eight points of articulation. The figure is a success because Hasbro captured what we consider a completely perfect pose. He looks the best when posed with his sawed-off blaster rifle in both hands, because that it is his signature look as he fled Bespin to bring the frozen Han Solo to Jabba the Hutt. Granted, other than this pose, Boba Fett (300th Figure) begins to look a bit wonky. There isn’t enough range of movement to turn his arms down to his side and his hunched over posture limits how well he looks sans weapons in general. We don’t care though. We still think this figure is a roaring success and something to celebrate, not just for its landmark, but for its sculpt and deco. The color palette is flawless and Hasbro ensured that they added plenty of silver “scratched” detail to the paint job to recreate Boba Fett’s already battle-ravaged appearance. Again, we couldn’t be happier.
