We don’t believe that anyone who collects The Vintage Collection line anticipated, expected, or wanted another wave of “carbonized” action figures. Still, Hasbro, desperate to contain tooling costs, is banging them out in both scales. We don’t know if Hasbro is producing these figures in denial, knowing that collectors are growing tired of them, or if they’re ignorant that collectors are mocking them across fan sites and social media. Yes, they’re novelty products produced by Hasbro, and there has always been a viable market for the “weird” and “strange” in Star Wars collecting. 2006’s VTSC George Lucas (In Stormtrooper Disguise) is another novelty figure that did well. The point is that there are collectors that want them. Hasbro picked four new characters for Walmart’s second wave of exclusive The Mandalorian “carbonized” action figures. The selection isn’t as great as the first one, but we do get a couple of army-building action figures in this line if you want them. The Armorer played a significant role in the plot development of The Mandalorian, and now the TVC action figure from the tail end of 2020 is back with a shimmery, glittery, and pearly paint finish. Will you buy this one for your collection?

The Mandalorian is breaking records across all measurements, from audience scores to toy sales. As often ill-prepared as they tend to be, Hasbro cannot keep up with the demand for super-articulated action figures based on the many characters from this Disney+ series. We have a host of main characters already, but all of the new characters presented in the show are quickly well-respected by those who watch it. The creators of the show focus on good storytelling along with believable and intriguing characters. They combine these elements with plenty of action and with a plot that makes sense. They then threw in long-awaited fan service here and there to get fans’ emotions pumping thanks to the fantastic homage-paying. The Mandalorian seems to be a hit worldwide, except for a small and sad facet of “fans” obsessed with gatekeeping the franchise according to their standards. That’s nothing new. Regardless, the popularity of The Mandalorian will continue to grow. One of the most notable female characters in any Disney Star Wars Entertainment is The Armorer. She holds firmly to Mandalorian ideals and creeds, yet she can put down multiple Remnant Stormtroopers at once, in a believable fashion, thanks to her qualifying training.

After two The Armorer The Black Series 6” releases, Hasbro soon added the character into The Vintage Collection 3.75-inch line. The Armorer stood out as one of the most requested character ins quite some time. Who didn’t want the person responsible for creating The Mandalorian’s full beskar armor in action figure form? The Vintage Collection’s The Armorer figure was a breath of fresh air for the lineup, and now we have the Walmart exclusive The Armorer (Carbonized) figure. Suppose you have the original version of the figure. In that case, you know what to expect here for accessories and articulation, but the most notable difference is the new paint operations, which makes it look like a ceramic figurine instead of an incredible Star Wars action figure. Frankly, it’s lovely to see this character realized in this scale. And while imperfect, we commend Hasbro for designing a beautiful-looking action figure that meets definitive status right out of the gate. The Armorer is perfectly proportioned and fits well with the other figures designed in the line. It comes with a molded hood that inhibits The Armorer’s arm movement, especially in the shoulders. The Armorer still doesn’t come with enough accessories for our tastes. We would love to see some of Din Djarin’s armory included with the figure. For $17.99, it’s not worth $5 more for a different paint job. More accessories would make this price hike easier to swallow.
