Leesub Sirln - LC - Basic (BD34)

Leesub Sirln is a Qiraash and one of the patrons in the Mos Eisley cantina on Tatooine. She is hiding from Imperial authorities that suspect her of having precognitive powers and have declared her a Force adept.

Leesub Sirln is a figure that unintentionally pays homage to the vintage line. And likewise we think that Hasbro is also unknowingly paying homage. While she was never released in the vintage line, she is still a figure who shares the same spirit as classics like Snaggletooth and Hammerhead. Never too visible or having a reasonable amount of screen time in the film and not saying any audible lines, she is a character that sees plastic despite this. Forever immortalized in action figure form over 30 years from the release of the film that she appeared, Leesub Sirln adds another depth of character to your Chalmun's Cantina display and another female action figure that will either be hot or not in the Legacy Collection. Likely to have never been released had the Star Wars basic modern line not lasted this long, we still think that she is a bit overdue. Not the most intriguing female bar patron in Star Wars, she is a good start until we get the two Tonnika sisters (that we will never get). While we are certain that it is not Leesub Sirlin's duty to pacify those wanting the Tonnika sisters, she will no doubt interest the same audience. Cool, sleek and sexy. Leesub Sirln has it all and she will at least add some color to your Star Wars collection. A Force sensitive Qiraash, she is another vagabond and renegade seeking selfish pleasures rather than the what good she can give the universe.

Leesub Sirln has 14 areas of articulation which you can assume that this is more than enough for this background character. She is perfectly in scale with all your other correctly scaled action figures and she has good posture and stature. Cast in a very pale pink, Leesub Sirln is the first Star Wars action figure with this skin color. She has a silver and black skin tight shell/leotard with two black boots. The silver paint used to make up most of her clothing is actually quite impressive and it glistens when necessary and looks flat most other times. There is just the right amount of "glitter" in the paint and it really looks great. Leesub Sirln has a very large cranium. While her character looks a little bizarre, it interestingly does not detract from her beauty. Sadly, that beauty does not translate entirely well into her likeness in the action figure. A little more paint in the face would have benefit her tremendously. But Hasbro decided to go with a simplistic approach and paint very plain black dots for eyes. She is sorely missing some eye shadow as seen in the picture on the figure's card back. Something to make her more feminine is needed and we think this is the missing link. We do wish to however note that her hairstyle is replicated perfectly and dark plum lipstick has been added to her lips. As far as decoration is concerned, Leesub Sirln looks great, she just isn't perfect.

Leesub Sirln comes with a blaster pistol and she has a holster in her left boot where it stays (but not too well). Where else would she put her gun being that she is so scantily clad? She also comes with a clear crystal bar glass (the same one that comes with Hrchek Kal Fas). Her left hand is in a very wide open position and it can hold the glass quite well. Similarly, her right hand is positioned in a way that holds her pistol excellently. From a distance, Leesub Sirln has a very nice silhouette. As you get closer and closer, the silhouette becomes a little more knobby and less sleek. For a figure that is mostly “naked” and showing her entire arms and legs, the joints overall look pretty good on the figure. While you can definitely see where they connect, they don't look out of proportion or completely unnatural. For some strange reason, the Princess Leia (BD17) figure would clearly have the same issue, but the joints on her look better for some reason. Still not to worry however, Leesub Sirln looks awesome and she is a breath of fresh air in the Legacy Collection. Counting all figures separately, since 2006's The Saga Collection, we have received a dozen or so excellently sculpted and/or painted Cantina/Mos Eisley aliens in the basic line. And they are apparently going to get better and better as time marches forward. And we look forward to what Hasbro has tucked away in their parking lot! They may think they are winding down, but there are many older figures in need of desperate updates too.
