Our pals at Yakface.com have put together a fabulous tutorial on how to make the consummate phase II Clone Trooper. They're absolutely correct to criticize the current removable helmet Hasbro uses as being much too bulky and large. Be sure to check out their cool post on what you need to do to make this figure yourself. (It's much easier than it sounds!) While I was reading the post, it inspired me to share what I have been doing as well to make a more palatable phase II clone in my collection without any permanent damage to the figures. Click through for both link's to Yakface.com's tutorial as well as photos of an even easier remedy (and for those who can't spare the thought of even drilling, poking or cutting your babies at all).

If you don't want to permanently "damage" your figure, the helmet from 2005's ROTS AT-TE Driver is much better scaled and fits over the head of 2011's TVC Clone Trooper (VC45) figure. It's loose and will fall off if you turn it upside down, but this can be resolved with poster putty or a peace of tiny foam. This removable helmet is cast in a hard plastic and is smaller than the current phase II helmets Hasbro is using. If you're looking for colored clones, then paint this one!
