Hasbro, We Have Some Cool Ideas For You For The Vintage Collection!

Topic: Rants and Raves

We'll be upfront with you. Customizing is not our strong point. We don't touch exacto knives, glue and soldering irons. We'll leave that to the experts, like our friends at ImperialShipyards.net and Yakface.com. But we do have enough parts in our collection now to make some cool updates to some of our favorite action figures with simple part swapping. JTA (with some inspiration from a figure we saw from the cool guys at DewbackPatrol.com) has "played" with some of our action figures and culled together some ideas for Hasbro to maybe consider in The Vintage Collection. There is a reason we're doing this. Since Hasbro is encouraging us to order online, we feel they've got to meet us half way. These are just inital suggestions, a jumping off point for Hasbro.Click through to see what we've proposed.

AT-TE Driver

Recipe: 2010's TVC Clone Trooper (VC15) with the pauldron, helmet, blaster and blaster pistol from 2005's AT-TE Driver (III 34) figure.

OK Hasbro! We haven't had an update to this figure ever! With all the super-articulated clone trooper bodies out there, how about using some existing parts and put together a fabulous member of the Army of the Republic? (The helmet fits on there like a glove!)

Cloud City Wing Guard

Recipe: 2010's LC Cloud City Wing Guard (Utris M'Toc) (BD50) with the head from 2010's TVC Rebel Commando (VC26). (Thanks to our friends at DewbackPatrol.com for letting us steal your idea.)

This "fauxstomized" figure may not exactly equal the modern replacement to the white Bespin Security Guard from the vintage line, but it seems like a no-brainer for Hasbro to release more awesome Cloud City Wing Guard figures since they've developed a definitive body! We are sure you have a ton more heads in your parts catalogue, Hasbro, so keep making cool new Bespin Security Guard figures for us! OK?

Luke Skywalker (Battle Poncho)

Recipe: 2010's TVC Luke Skywalker (Endor Capture) (VC23) with all of the accessories from the Luke Skywalker figure in 2009's LC Battle For Endor Battle Packs set.

Alright! We know you're not bringing back the coins into The Vintage Collection for the original 1985 The Power Of The Force figures, but here is a simple update you can do for Luke Skywalker (Battle Poncho). We all want this figure in The Vintage Collection. Just dress up your awesome "Endor Capture" Luke Skywalker and put him in new packaging.

So why are we doing this?

Hasbro, since you've hinted time and again that collectors should look to online ordering to get our figures, how about you meet us half way? Instead of repacking the cases with six carry-forward figures (stuff we already have), how about just repacking "new" figures into the mix to make it worth our while? There are so many figures we collectors want to see released on vintage card backs, so here are three suggestions. We are sure you can do a lot more if you just think about it.

And let's not forget that there are some already amazing figures that we would love to see repackaged as is in The Vintage Collection. FX-7, Yarna, R1-G4, AT-AT Driver, Warok, Romba, Sergeant Edian and Zuckuss are just a few examples of excellent figures you can repackage into The Vintage Collection which will cost you $0 in tooling costs and make your long term collectors very happy. So, if you want us to go the route of online ordering, let's get on the same page.
