You all seem to be really enjoying our focuses on the variations in The Vintage Collection so we move forward with another! Click through to learn about Luke Skywalker (Jedi Knight Outfit) (Endor Capture) and how Hasbro is "improving" him. Change in hair color, a place to put his lightsaber hilt now, card back changes? Yup, we've got it all distilled for you...with pictures!!

Luke Skywalker may be the figure with the most amount of changes (or future changes) any other figure in The Vintage Collection has or will see. And so many of the changes happened right from the beginning. Carded collectors may be interested to know that his name plate comes without the silver detail and is all white instead. (Thank you Jayson Krebsbach for spelling this out in detail for me.) And while it remains unknown if Hasbro will fix this, another change is in the works. Hasbro is updating the card back photo and name of this figure to Luke Skywalker (Endor Capture). So all of you who have been boo-hooing about this figure about not having a cape, this is not meant to be Luke Jedi Knight. That one is coming, just not yet. So be patient darn it!

JTA first reported on a variation which just seems to be catching on now. Luke Skywalker comes in two styles: one with a hole for the lightsaber hilt and one without. And interestingly, the lightsaber hilt either does or does not have a peg depending upon which version of Luke you have. This feature is bittersweet. We love the functionality of plugging the hilt on his belt, but it is more aesthetically pleasing to not have a hole in your action figure. It seems that the figure with the hole is the more difficult version to find right now and we're starting to question which one is the error and which one isn't. If this is indeed the "Endor Capture" Luke, he wouldn't be wearing his lightsaber. (Then again, R2-D2 had Luke's lightsaber for safe-keeping when he was in Jabba's Palace. This is madness!)

Another variance we pointed out was the change in Luke's hair color. The version with the hole is a solid rich blonde. The version without the hole is more dirty blond in color and has much more streaking than not. See our enhanced Research Droids Review on this figure including four new photos comparing the two versions side by side. While you're there, be sure to vote and give us your feedback by voting in the poll. More figure variations coming soon!
