Topic: Hasbro

In 2009 Hasbro announced that a new Y-wing fighter was in development as a store exclusive.  But in a recent Hasbro Q&A session with Jedi Temple War Room, it was revealed that this exclusive has been put on hold.  However, the new Y-wing may re-emerge for a 2011 release.  And with that delay Hasbro has asked Jedi Temple War Room to find out which version of the Y-wing fighter collectors want the most!  The candidates? Read on!

GOLD SQUADRON - STAR WARS EPISODE IV - A NEW HOPE

Gold Squadron has the dangerous mission of flying the first attack run on the Death Star's polar trench in STAR WARS EPISODE IV - A NEW HOPE during the Battle of Yavin.  Gold Squadron's Y-wings look like they've seen a lot of action, but they can take a beating and still keep flying in to the target.  With rookie pilots like Tiree and veterans like Davish "Pops" Krail escorting their squadron leader Jon "Dutch" Vander in so that he can "Stay on Target", these pilots gave the last full measure of devotion for the Rebellion against the Empire as Darth Vader and his Black Squadron TIE Fighters closed in for the kill.

GRAY SQUADRON - STAR WARS EPISODE VI - RETURN OF THE JEDI

Gray Squadron formed the Y-wing contingent of Rebel fighters that faced the Empire at the Battle of Endor.  Led by Colonel Horton Salm, the Y-wings formed some of the backbone of the Alliance fleet.  Pilots like Lt. Telsij fought off the attacks of the newer TIE Interceptors, as Gray Leader Horton Salm escorted the Millenium Falcon and Red Leader Wedge Antilles into the superstructure of the second Death Star on their mission to destroy the Emporer's second dreaded Death Star.

So which version of the Y-wing do you prefer? Sound off at our affiliate site Jedi Temple War Room to let your voice be heard. The poll will run through midnight ET on Wednesday, May 5th, 2010. The responses will be sent directly to Hasbro.

Thank you, and May The Force Be With You.
