According to The Hollywood Reporter, Michael Giacchino (Lost, Up, Star Trek) has replaced Alexander Desplat as the composer for Rogue One. The reason for Desplat's departure? That would be those inescapable reshoots. The extensive reshoots Rogue One went through created a scheduling conflict for Desplat and he was forced to drop out. Enter Michael Giacchino. Giacchino has frequently worked for Disney in the past scoring five Pixar movies, Zootopia, and the upcoming Doctor Strange movie among others. It's still strange and nerve-racking to think that someone besides John Williams will be scoring a Star Wars movie, but Giacchino seems like a natural fit.
