After the news broke that Disney was searching for an actor to play a young Lando in the upcoming Han Solo movie, speculation about who could possibly replace Billy Dee Williams began. Now a new report suggests that there is already a frontrunner. Birth. Movies. Death. is reporting that Donald Glover (Community, The Martian) is the first choice to play young Lando. You could do a lot worse than Donald Glover. I like Glover and he has proven himself as both a comedic and dramatic actor. But is he a good choice for Lando? I don't know. As with Han Solo and Harrison Ford, it's difficult to accept someone besides Billy Dee Williams as Lando. Although I won't write the movie off yet, especially with Phil Lord and Chris Miller directing, I still don't like the idea of a young Han Solo movie. Han Solo has one of the most complete character arcs in the entire saga, so at least on paper this film seems unnecessary to me. In addition to my discomfort with recasting Han and now Lando.
