In Memoriam: Quilted Memories For JTA Reader And Friend Mark Grimshaw

Topic: General News

It has been one year today since I lost my friend Mark Grimshaw to cancer. Although a friend, he also was an avid Star Wars collector as well as a fixture here at Jedi Temple Archives (as studlydudly) in the comments. He also spent a significant amount of time at our colleagues' sites Yakface.com and BanthaSkull.com. He thoroughly enjoyed the hobby. Mark's caregiver John T. reached out to me to see if I would share what he had made with some of Mark's remaining t-shirts that he found. He had them made into two quilts and then gifted them to Mark's parents. You can look at them by clicking the thumbnails below.

Hi Paul

I found 50 more SW t-shirts last October - most of them were smaller sizes and from the early years before I knew Mark - you could say they were vintage SW t-shirts. Many were from Celebrations I through III.

I decided to make two quilts from them - one for his mom and one for his dad. I have sent both off to them yesterday.

I was wondering if you could post on Jedi Temple Archives for me. Mark passed on July 16.

I wanted his friends at Jedi Temple Archives to see the quilts and remember Mark one year later.

I appreciate any help you can give me on this.

May the Force be with You. Always!

John T.
