Hopefully this will serve as a great deterrent to the unscrupulous "collectors" stealing right out from under Walmart and other stores. JTA reader Trovovo has sent us in images of a Walmart camera system JUST in the Star Wars action figure aisle at his local Walmart. Click through for more

Paul,

These photos were taken at the Walmart in Waterville, ME; not exactly know as being a crime haven. I'm not sure how long this security system has been directed at the Star Wars toys, but I first noticed it around the time of the TFA product launch. I walked around and confirmed that there were none of these set-ups in any other toy isle, in fact I only saw two others in the rest of the store. That's me in the monitor, standing in front of the masks and 3.75" figures.

The camera kind of sees the whole aisle but I think it's safe to say that the intention here is to watch and, more importantly, send a message to the Star Wars shoppers. By the way, the Star Wars end of this aisle is adjacent to a high-traffic walkway. It's not like these toys are off in the back corner of the store were nobody goes. I counted three associates walking by in the brief time that I was taking these pics.
