Somewhere A Native American Is Shedding a Tear....

Back in April we expressed great concern of the alarming amount of The Black Series [Phase III] 6" wave 2 figures hitting retails in such great numbers. As the attention of retail becomes shorter and shorter there just isn't time for them to move out merchandise that just isn't produced to interest the adult collecting market. Here we are just 60 days out from April and these older TBS6 figures have completely brought the line to a screeching halt. They're completely rotting on pegs. Many regions of the USA and abroad still haven't even seen the Hux/Asty or Ahsoka/Kanan waves and are swimming in wave 2 as well. Even Capatin Phasma is hanging around like a plague. It seems that Walmart has become impatient too, and we have found at all of the stores in our areas that TBS6 figures have been rollbacked to $14.92 each, which is right around what these things cost wholesale. (JTA reader C. Emrich also sent us a report showing the same thing at his local Walmart.) It's unbelievable the state the hobby is in right now. Even Micro Machines (the playsets we're talking about) and vehicles can be found about $1 - $3 each now. It's time to bring back vintage Kenner inspired packaging. Mock vintage Kenner Large Size Action Figure boxes for 6" figures, and classic vintage Kenner basic figures for 3.75" scale. Now, Hasbro. You need a hail Mary at this point. Retail needs to look like 1978-1985 again to bring back the fold that has walked away.
