JTA reader Scott K. spent some time drawing attention to similarities that exist between The Force Awakens Resistance Trooper and McQuarrie's concept Rebel pilot and even a Galoob Y-wing Pilot. Click through for his analysis.

Hi Paul,

When Hasbro's 3.75" Resistance Trooper figure leaked online I thought the design was a bit familiar. At first I thought that the Resistance Trooper just reminded me of some GI Joe character, but yesterday it hit me. This trooper (like many other designs in TFA) is fairly similar to one of Ralph McQuarrie's concept designs. This one specifically for a concept rebel pilot in A New Hope. Ralph made some sketches and a full body drawing plus the full color uniform seen in the hangar setting painting that I attached.

Also, Galoob created this pilot in Action Fleet size in the late 90's for their Y-Wing Starfighter from the Alpha Series concept line.
