There were a lot of questions posted as to how the Digital HD versions will be viewable through the various digital outlets. We reached out for a more definitive answer. Click through for the full details!

Here's the official explanation directly from VUDU on viewing the Digital HD versions once you make your purchase:

First, I’d say viewers get the most flexibility and value if they buy on VUDU because we are on the most platforms and work with both digital movie standards: Disney Movies Anywhere and UltraViolet.

The explanation:
VUDU is on more devices overall than any one individual competitor. For example, if you buy movies on iTunes, you are locked into watching on Apple devices. Google Play isn’t on Xbox One, and so on.

Disney Movies Anywhere and UltraViolet are two digital movie standards that allow you to watch movies across retailers.

Only Star Wars Episodes 1, 2, 3, 5 and 6 are compatible with Disney Movies Anywhere.
Only Star Wars Episode 4 ('A New Hope') is compatible with UltraViolet.
This is due to the different distribution rights of the Star Wars films as held by The Walt Disney Company and 20th Century Fox.

Only VUDU works with both Disney Movies Anywhere and UltraViolet.

Disney Movies Anywhere lets you buy on Google Play, iTunes or VUDU, and watch on any one of those retailers.

UltraViolet lets you buy on VUDU and a few other smaller players like Cinema Now, Flixster and watch on any of those retailers, as well as use a few features like “Share My Movies”.

So if you want the most flexibility/value for the Star Wars bundle, VUDU is definitely the place to get it.
