Welcome to our next Q and A of the Day post! This column will be published daily, weekly, monthly, or just based on how many questions I get emailed – but no more than one a day. Feel free to send in your questions and I will put them in the queue. Click through for Q and A of the Day: Day 23.

Q: Dear Paul. Hello a non-toy question for you. Now that Disney owns Lucasfilm and Star Wars do you think will see finally the original versions of the pre-special editions of the Original Trilogy Episodes 4-6 on Blu-Ray. I know in the past GL said he would never release and restore the original versions of the OT for Blu-Ray but now that Disney owns Star Wars will that change? Thanks and keep up the good work. (Kenny K.)

A: I think if George Lucas has even a thumbprint left in the decision-making the process that this will never happen. However, if he is fully removed from any final decision regarding this hot topic, then yes I think it's possible. I loathe those who feel entitled in general, but I make an exception with the Original Trilogy. I think all fans are entitled to get unadulterated but remastered versions of these films both on DVD and Blu-ray. The 2004 DVD releases were a bittersweet nightmare. I thought I was watching a black screen for most of Episode VI, although I must say how refreshing it was to see a smoothly put together Jabba's Palace sequence and the return of Lapti Nek. I am all for enhancements. I liked the beak on the Sarlacc and I did like the additional sequences of Oola, but those are barely noticeable in the wake of removing a complete musical number or making Ewoks blink all of a sudden or a horrid awkward pan to Jabba's palace door. (What the heck was that all about, readers?) The Original Trilogy comes across now more like an old film with band aids on it rather than the flawless films they once were. Anything is possible at this point, but I hope your wish and my wish comes true soon. With Disney in charge, I can't see them passing on a big money-making opportunity like this. But I guess we will have to wait and see.
