Research Droids Reviews: December 28, 2011 – January 3, 2012

Ahsoka Tano's Jedi Starfighter - TCW [S2] - Vehicles
We honestly don’t think Hasbro has any inkling of just how powerful of a character Ahsoka Tano would play in the role of their toy line. And by that we mean that hasbro had no idea just how strongly she would resonate with kids and collectors.... (read the full review)

Obi-Wan Kenobi's Delta Starfighter TCW [F/S1] - Vehicles Obi-Wan Kenobi’s Delta Starfighter, or Obi-Wan Kenobi's Delta-7B Aethersprite-class light interceptor to be more precise, is a wonderful all-new vehicle for Star Wars collectors, or to be more accurate, The Clone Wars collectors. We’re always thoroughly impressed when Hasbro manages to squeeze so much into a little space, but how about when two vehicles can be incorporated into one.... (read the full review)

Remote Control Republic Fighter Tank - TCW [SOTDS] - Vehicles
Perhaps Hasbro didn’t learn their lesson after the global failure of the Radio Control Hailfire Droid. Darth Maul - TVC - Basic (VC86)
Where does one begin to speak of the magnificence of The Vintage Collection’s Darth Maul action figure? Should we be frustrated that Hasbro didn’t share with us all of the new things they brought forward with this release or should we bask in the joyous pleasure this figure will bring you in your collection.... (read the full review)

Darth Sidious - TVC - Basic (VC79)
Don’t you just love it when Hasbro kit-bashes a figure so well that it looks altogether like a brand new figure? That’s totally what can be said of The Vintage Collection’s Darth Sidious (VC79) figure, a figure that led us to initially believe was all-new but come to find out is mostly rehashed.... but in a good way.... (read the full review)

Anakin Skywalker - TVC - Basic (VC80)
There seems to be a pattern with a few of the figures in The Phantom Menace wave of The Vintage Collection. They all have “Expanded Universe” elements added to their movie-specific appearances. Just how Darth Sidious can be completely disrobed to show a “dark Jedi,” something similar has been applied to Anakin Skywalker.... (read the full review)
