Please Turn Our Frowns Upside Down Hasbro?

As promised, here are more of your fellow collectors' frustration written out "professionally" for Hasbro employees to read and digest. Let's hope some of this penetrates to those that really need to hear this! Click through for all of the details.

Please forward this email to a manger

Dear Hasbro Management staff,

I have been a life long collector. I am writing to you because I am very concerned about your recent business decisions and poor executions.

First off, I think you guys are doing a great job with the Clone Wars line, Marvel Legends, Gi Joe, and Marvel Universe. However, the distribution problems have caused many collectors frustrated finding new figures. While I am aware that you do not control store distributions, you can carry these items on Hasbrotoyshop.com and make sure there's enough stock for everyone.

Yesterday SDCC debacle has caused thousands of people with frustration and anger towards your company. By now i'm sure you know why. I strongly urge you to go back into production on all SDCC items to win back collectors and your customers. Never have I experienced such heartache collecting in my 30 years with this hobby.

From where we are now, I think it's in your best interest to do more for the collector fanbase. Such as advanced pre-orders on all SDCC items and go way over whatever the pre-order amount comes too in production. You can offer a subscription service which includes SDCC and other convention items.

Below i'm providing links to a blog I visit that is discussing these very issues. I also encourage you to read up on message boards on TNI, Hisstank, etc. and read the fans responses on yesterdays debacle, and distribution issues.

Please do all you can for us and go beyond that.

From E.J.:

Here is the letter I wrote earlier today:

Dear Hasbro,

Why doesn’t Hasbro make enough exclusives for more than just the San Diego Comic Con? There are Cons in all of the major cities in the United States. I have been buying Star Wars toys since 1978 and I have to admit that each year Hasbro’s customer service gets worse and worse! It is not only your website; I can’t find any of the new Vintage figures, Clone Wars figures or vehicles at Target, Wal-Mart or Toys R Us! Your distribution is horrible and I am sick and tried of hearing how you will try to do better because frankly I do not believe it anymore. What happened to true customer satisfaction? Why don’t you sell a whole case of the Revenge of the Jedi Vintage carded figures on your website instead of further screwing us by making them chase figures!!! Not only will I miss out on the exclusive SDCC packaging, I will never be able to piece together two chase figures from multiple cases around the Holidays when they finally show up in stores that still have 50 4-Lom’s and Dengars hanging around (that’s if they even make it to the pegs). Hell I can’t even find the Vintage Wedge Antilles figure at stores now. Hasbro could learn a thing or two from Sideshow Collectibles, they truly have customer service down to a science. Stop making excuses and start making changes! You should have known on the first day of the Comic Con what the demand would be for your exclusives - we live in an internet age, not the Stone Age, get a clue or give it up. At $9.99 a figure, customer service should be oozing from your website.

E.J.

From Mike T:

Hey Paul,
you've been doing a great job with the site, as always. But you've done an especially good at representing how fans feel about hasbro's performance as of late. So I thought I would send the email I just sent to hasbro....

Dear Hasbro,
Your poor planning, inability to get product to retail, and the ridiculous system of carry figures(coupled with poor carry forward choices) are killing the star wars line. I hope to god that I never see cloud car pilot, 4-lom, dengar, sandtrooper, the clone wars commander Cody, and the AWFUL vintage collection all white clone trooper on the shelves again.  But I know that won't happen because you are too stupid purge the stores of them.  The last new wave of figures i saw was vintage wave five, which seems to be the 2011 wave that shipped the most. It also happens to be the worst. So why ship that one the most? You don't have to answer because I've already figured it out. Don't insult us by saying you thought it would be the most popular, because if that was true I would see vinatge waves 3 and 7 on the shelf. The answer is because it was the cheapest one to make, not because of demand but because of cost to you.  Why is vinatge so much more than saga lenegds and clone wars? It because you know fans will pay it. You don't get a pack in  it's  just a figure and the cardback. another example of you screwing over collectors. The disease of poor decision making has spread to clone wars as well. The only new items  I've seen  come to the shelves are  vintage waves 4 an 5. No new clone wars. But the system of carryfoward figures is leading the way to the destruction of the star wars line. Let me start off by saying I like clone troopers but that  white clone trooper will kill vintage by itself. It was is the only figure a target in my area has had since November of last year, and there is ten of them!!!!! If you need to carry foward figures then carry popular figures like Boba Fett, arc trooper commander, Wedge, Gamorrean Gaurd, Rebel Feet Trooper, and General Grievous and I garuntee you they will sell through.  So please hasbro get your act together. Because if one word can describe how collectors feel it is disappointed.

Sorry it was kind of long.

Thanks you pal,
Mike t.

And be sure to check out our front page and the "bazillion" other comments our readers have posted about this horrific event. Hopefully our voices will encourage Hasbro to make this right or at least a bit "righter" for us.
