Star Wars: The Force Awakens Only Days Away From the Top Spot

Star Wars: The Force Awakens quietly moved into second place all-time for its domestic gross yesterday, clocking in at $686 million... just 74 million behind number one Avatar. TFA should easily surpass Avatar by the end of next weekend, putting a Star Wars movie back at the top where it belongs! Worldwide TFA is currently seventh all time ($1.4 billion), with quite a ways to go to claim that top spot (Avatar holds that with $2.7 billion). TFA should see a big international boost when it releases in China's huge market on January 9th.
