Q and A of the Day: Day 64

Posted by Paul | May 28, 2014 at 09:49 PM ET

Welcome to our next Q and A of the Day post! This column will be published daily, weekly, monthly, or just based on how many questions I get emailed – but no more than one a day. Feel free to send in your questions and I will put them in the queue. Click through for Q and A of the Day: Day 64. Topic: Should I try to get the original Boba Fett Premium Format Figure, or should I wait for the new one?

Q: Hi Paul - I'm on the cusp of purchasing [an original] Boba Fett PF at what considering is a very reasonable price and before I jump in I'd just like to know your current thoughts on the piece. You wrote very favourably about it in your initial review of him, and considering we've had the Mythos since and now the news of a forthcoming PF do you still think this it's still one of the stand out Movie accurate Fett pieces out there which will continue to stand the test of time? Regards. (Ed).

A: Ed – 2007's Boba Fett Premium Format Figure is truly a work of art, but I know for a fact that the new version that Sideshow Collectible has just teased will be far superior. Yes, I love the Boba Fett version based on Return Of The Jedi. (I even like the odd Mandalorian wall mount the Sideshow Exclusive piece comes with as well.) But you can bet your bottom dollar that Sideshow has a decade of making Star Wars Premium Format Figures under their belt now and I can guarantee you that the new version, which I am assuming is based on The Empire Strikes Back this time, will indeed be the more superior piece. (I will be shocked if it isn't.) If you're a huge Boba Fett fan, I would encourage you to get both, but if you're looking for the best version made, well, even without seeing it, the new yet-to-be-shown will be the one that will rank higher.
