Research Droids Reviews: June 6, 2012 – June 12, 2012

Bespin Battle - SW [TPM 3D] - Battle Packs
Well, Hasbro has actually accomplished something that they probably had no intention of happening. They’ve inadvertently yet completely divided the collecting community in half with the release of the Bespin Battle and Duel On Naboo Battle Packs sets. These two controversial multipacks happen to make up the second wave of Battle Packs set for 2012.... (read the full review)

Duel On Naboo - SW [TPM 3D] - Battle Packs
Hasbro has convinced themselves that the Battle Packs line is for kids. Collectors have lamented about this for the last few years because some products in the Battle Packs line have included the greatest moments of collecting. Who was unable to be blow away with awesome sets like 2009’s TLC Scramble On Yavin or 2008’s TLC Hoth Recon Patrol? (read the full review)

Clone Attack On Coruscant - ROTS - Battle Packs (Exclusive)
Hasbro wasn’t given ample information about what types of clones would indeed be appearing in Star Wars Episode III: Revenge Of The Sith. While it would be ridiculous to even claim that Hasbro didn’t give us enough Clone Trooper action figures at the April 2005 Hasbro street date for new product, what we did get instead of screen accurate clones (for the most part) were concept clones; ones rejected for the final cur of Episode III, as well as some Hasbro concepts thrown in for good measure.... Jedi Vs. Sith - ROTS - Battle Packs
One thing that both collectors and Hasbro shared together was our passion for Tartakovsky’s Clone Wars micro-series. Jedi Training On Dagobah - TAC - Battle Packs
The 30th anniversary of the Star Wars saga came before most of us expected. Did three decades really pass us by “that” quickly? 2007 was the anniversary year where we reminisced and pondered why the passion and fire we have for Star Was hasn’t dissipated in the least. Hasbro was equally excited to celebrate the three decade landmark and developed a truly special anniversary collection called 30 (77-07), simple yet poignant, to commemorate this very special time.... Treachery On Saleucami - TAC - Battle Packs (Exclusive)
It may have been 30 years since the release of A New Hope in theaters, but a lot more than that was meant to be celebrated in 2007’s 30 (77-07) collection by Hasbro. This line was meant to celebrate 30 years in general of the Star Wars property including the Prequel Trilogy as well as the Expanded Universe.... (read the full review)

STAP Attack - TAC - Battle Packs (Exclusive)
With all of the wonderful actual scenes in the Star Wars films, why does Hasbro take it upon themselves to develop their own concepts in the toy line? Take for instance the STAP Attack Toys R Us exclusive Battle Packs set. STAPs were not even seen in Star Wars Episode II: Attack Of The Clones.... (read the full review)
