Hasbro yanks 12" figure license from Sideshow Collectibles! It seemed inevitable, but we were hoping for Hasbro to make many more main characters before the line ended. Click through for more.
With the unveiling of the new product line look coming in 2012 and an even bigger movie push when the films get released in 3D glory, Hasbro will be taking the 12” figure license back from Sideshow Collectibles and will be producing their own range of one-sixth scaled figures. JTA has learned this change is happening when the new product line launches in 2012. Hopefully Sideshow Collectibles will be able to announce the bounty hunters and a few other figures before the license gets yanked. Hasbro feels that they could market this popular line once again with a whole new generation watching these films for the first time on the silver screen. It will be interesting to see what approach Hasbro will take. They have big shoes to fill and their last 12" figure was a half a decade ago.
