Hasbro Toy Fair Coverage

Toy Fair may have not given us a look at the Hasbro basic figure line extremely far down the road, but we do know what's coming through August 2010. The fantastic news is that The Vintage Collection is continuing AT LEAST through 2012 with the possibility of 2013. This is exciting news. The Vintage Collection clearly is inspiring collectors and some really fantastic figures are coming forth. And EU lovers can breath a sigh of relief as Expanded Universe characters will see themselves enter this collection for the very first time including an all-new card back look denoting the EU. And there are more deleted scene figures coming as well!

And in true "vintage " fashion, Hasbro is also doing another Boba Fett mail-away figure, the proto-Fett that collectors adore!

Probably the nicest exclusives we saw were the Commemorative Blu-ray sets. These four packs have beautiful packaging and sit on the shelf and the spines of all 6 sets form a stunning mural. Nearly all the figures included are the most definitive sculpts available and there are some nice surprise returns to the line like Commander Bly and what looks to be the Resurgence Of The Jedi Luke Skywalker figures for example.

There will also be a Comic Con 2011 exclusive which contains all 12 of the standard release "Revenge Of The Jedi" figures in addition to the exclusive Salacious Crumb and Mouse Droid figures (on adorable tiny The Vintage Collection cardbacks). We wonder if they'll have little tiny numbers on the back of their cards.....hmmm.

Hasbro claims (as they always do) that a ton more information is coming at Comic Con. We'll need to be patient until then we assume.

Some housekeeping items:

We asked Hasbro about the running changes of the Utai and Imperial Scanning Crew. You already know their answer. They want to get them out, but nothing has been arranged.

Hasbro has also expressed that The Vintage Collection is exceeding expectations. This is a wonderful thing as this is the look of a line collectors want. Let's hope it goes beyond 2012!
