Posted by Nick | February 14, 2010 at 07:57 PM ET

One of the hallmarks of Hasbro's 2010 presentation was the remote control Hailfire Droid. How did it measure up? Read on!

The R/C Hailfire Droid marks the first occassion in which Hasbro has made an R/C vehicle that is designed to be compatible with the 3-3/4" figure line. Hasbro proudly advertised that this droid can steamroll over Clone Troops with little to no effort.

From an appearance standpoint this Hailfire Droid is considerably different from the original Hailfire Droid which debuted back in 2003's Clone Wars line. The treads are considerably larger than those found on the starfighter vehicle assortment Hailfire Droid. The hull has been expanded to house motors and a battery. The original Hailfire Droid was equipped with 32 missiles, while this new version has a total of 18 missiles. Also packaged with Hasbro's new Hailfire Droid also is a Clone Trooper to help defend against this beast of a machine.

Among the advertised features, this Hailfire Droid can fire off 3 missiles at a time triggered by the remote control. Hasbro Star Wars team members said that the projectiles have a range of at least 5 - 6 feet. And the Hailfire Droid is reported to be highly agile with tank-like handling.

The MSRP on the R/C Hailfire Droid will be $59.99 and is due in stores this August.
