You may have read a few months back about a wave of figures for The Force Unleashed, and that the wave had been delayed. So what's in store? Read on!
One topic that
came up in discussions with Hasbro at San Diego Comic Con was the status of
figures from The Force Unleashed. Hasbro
had initially stated that there would be a wave of TFU Basic Figures.
But in a recent Q&A
session with Galactic Hunter, Hasbro
stated that there would no longer be a wave of Basic Figures. But Hasbro stated
that they were looking to find another format in which to offer figures from The
Force Unleashed.
So how will we get the new figures from The Force Unleashed?
Multipacks. Again, that was MULTIPACKS. Notice the plural?
Where? Toys R Us stores. Exclusively.
When? Spring 2010.
As for the figure offerings, that is more ambiguous, and Hasbro is playing a
little coy on that front. Some of the more obvious character choices may be in
play. See this Wookieepedia
entry for a full character listing.
On a related note, Hasbro indicated at Comic Con that new multipack offerings
will offer either all new/retooled figures or all reissue figures. In the case
of the TFU multipacks these are likely to be a mix of new and retooled
figures. So expect the possibility for some trooper repaints.
Indications from Hasbro are that these sets will be unveiled at Toy Fair 2010.
In the meantime, keep checking back for more news on The Force Unleashed TRU
exclusive multipacks as we continue to follow this story!
