Celebration Catch Up: Ahsoka's Untold Stories Panel

Posted by Mike_Taber | July 21, 2016 at 11:47 AM ET

One of the most anticipated panels at Celebration Europe was the Ahsoka's Untold Stories Panel. Thankfully, StarWars.com has made the entire panel available for anyone to watch on their YouTube page. Click through for our full report!

Dave Filoni, Ashley Eckstein, and Pablo Hidalgo  joined stage host David Collins to discuss the missing chapters in Ahsoka's life. Filoni began the panel by describing Ahsoka's backstory and her discovery by Plo Koon. Although he was never able to feature the whole story of Ahsoka's discovery on The Clone Wars, Filoni has outlined the entire story and it would've explored what it meant to be discovered by the Jedi Order. The panel then shifted focus to the unproduced episodes of Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Three more story arcs would've have featured Ahsoka and explored her life after she walked away from the Jedi Order.

The first arc would have depicted Ahsoka's trying to find her place in the underworld of Coruscant and introduced a potential love interest for her. The second arc would've have reunited Ahsoka with Anakin and the Jedi Order as they discovered the Jedi Temple was built on top of an ancient Sith Temple. The final arc would have concluded the series. It would've taken place concurrently with the events Revenge of the Sith and depicted the Siege of Mandalore and the hunt for Darth Maul. Listening to Filoni describe this story was bittersweet. It would've been a perfect finale and its a shame Star Wars: The Clone Wars never was allowed to end on its own terms. Filoni described one scene that would've been a powerful, emotional, and slightly heartbreaking goodbye for Ahsoka and Anakin. It even made Ashley Eckstein cry. Although unlikely, I hope we get to see this story someday.

Finally, the panel discussed the upcoming Ahsoka novel and Filoni teased Ahsoka's ultimate fate after her confrontation with Darth Vader in Star Wars Rebels. Although I've summarized the major talking points, this panel is a must watch for fans of Ahsoka Tano and The Clone Wars. Check it out below!
