BREAKING NEWS: The Black Series Becomes The Chrome Collection?

Posted by Paul | June 07, 2015 at 04:42 PM ET

Well, according to this screen cap image it certainly looks that way! Keep in mind that there is no doubt that Jabba's Rancor Pit will come in TBS [P2] packaging. There is a lot going on in this post, so let's distill the most important points. Firstly, we have secured an image of the new Toys R Us Jabba's Rancor Pit from a Toys R Us computer with all of the important details. You should note that the Jabba shown in the picture is NOT the Jabba in the set. They inadvertently show the 2004 Star Wars "Saga" Ultra figure instead. They also don't show the rancor. More importantly, notice the way this exclusive is described: Star Wars Chrome Collection. There are no "The Black Series" descriptors on the screen at all. Maybe this means nothing. Maybe The Black Series will continue and the Chrome Collection refers to that rumored retailer exclusive line. It doesn't appear that Toys R Us uses this term to describe their exclusives, despite a chrome TRU sticker on them. Could this be the new collector-focused line name for September 2015? We're inclined to say yes to that. Obviously we will know nothing until Hasbro reveals it themselves, but it's interesting to say the least! Leave your thoughts in our comments! Remember from our last post, the Jabba's Rancor Pit multipack won't be available in stores. We hope that changes after SDCC!
