If you are thinking about returning something directly through Hasbro returns, JTA reader Tony has a cautionary tale that will make you reconsider... Click through for his experience with Hasbro's Consumer Affairs!
Hi Folks,
I wanted to drop a quick note to you to let you know about my recent experience with Hasbro returns.
Earlier in the month I picked up a Black Series Speeder Bike with Biker Scout. Like many of the reports on the 'net my scout had a bent and creased visor and one of the control arms on the speeder bike was bent outwards at almost a 45 degree angle.
In good faith, I contact Hasbro customer service and requested a replacement. The rep on the case was responsive and friendly and agreed to let me send my broken version back for a replacement. He also warned me that if the Speeder Bike with Biker Scout wasn't available they would send me a replacement of equal value.
I should have taken that warning more seriously. Instead, I made the bad assumption that Hasbro had a reserve of the product available for situations where they needed to ship a replacement.
Yesterday, when the new package arrived from Hasbro, I was thoroughly disappointed to open the box only to find a Black Series 6" Luke in his x-wing outfit and a Black series 6" Darth Maul instead of a Speeder Bike with Biker Scout.
The moral of this story is that attempting to reshape the plastic is probably the way to go if you get a damaged product, at least for the time being. Luckily, I've managed to find two other speeder bikes in my area and now I only need to figure out what to do with the extra Luke & Darth Maul.
Good luck camping the pegs!
Tony
