A Great Fix For The Cape On Your Darth Vader Figures!

Posted by Paul | August 25, 2013 at 04:47 PM ET

JTA reader Lang offers advice for other readers on how to make the new The Black Series Darth Vader look better (as in hiding that hideous silver cape tie). Click through for more information!

Hey Paul,

Just thought I'd pass along some adjustments I made to the Black Series Darth Vader. I really love the paint scheme on this guy (although this particular sample has some issues), but as usual, the big silver string takes a bit away from the look...and the way the cape billows out also affects the appearance.

Since the head comes off so easily, I decided to try to hide the string by stringing it under the cape, across the front of the neck post, and then looping it around. I was surprises to discover that not only did it hide the string, but it also pulled the cape ever so slightly down and forward, giving it a more realistic drape across Vader's shoulders.

It still requires a little tugging on the cape to get it just right, but I think it looks much better. What do you think?
