The Phantom Menace Menace

Posted by Paul | April 04, 2013 at 05:23 PM ET

Will this never end? There is always a price for collectors to pay it seems anymore. Collecting comes conditional instead of unconditional. It's quite frustrating. Look at the mess that is gathering and clogging pegs all over again in my area. The sad thing is I bet your area isn't that much different than mine. Déjà vu? I think not.

Walmart, TARGET and Toys R Us are getting inundated with The Phantom Menace wave all over again. This might as well be The Phantom Menace 3D 2.0! We honestly knew that this was inevitable, but it's still a kick to the crotch to actually see it manifest itself like this for the second time. It's also unbelievable that it's arrived again in an anniversary fashion, a year later to the day. Hasbro, it has to be years before you do anything special for Episode I again. Please. It's certainly bittersweet to get figures we've wanted to see a year ago hang from the pegs, but it's a nightmare to see The Phantom Menace carry-forward figures clog up store pegs again. We don't want to see these every again. Be proactive Hasbro – send your reps and pull the dead stock now. Thank you.
