How To Disassemble 2010's SW [SOTDS] Imperial AT-AT

Posted by Paul | March 12, 2013 at 05:19 PM ET

Do you remember this news post? (It was originally published HERE.)

We once saw on a fan site how to put the 2010 SW [SOTDS]/The Vintage Collection Imperial AT-AT back into the box. It was almost like an online manual. A reader of ours needs this tool so he can disassemble his and pack it away for moving. If you are aware of this online source, could you email usplease with a link? Thank you!

Thank goodness for our News Archives, because JTA reader John M.S. came across this post a year after the fact and writes in with the answer! Click through for his very helpful information!

Hopefully this is still of use, but I just saw this:

I just went through this pain to get the front part electrical connectors working right. Took a lot of searching. Here you go:

You have to remove the legs (just pull them off while bracing the body), and unscrew the bottom. The very back screws on the underside are very tough, especially with the kind of skinny screwdriver you'll need for getting at them. Lift the bottom off very slowly and gently as there are wires running under a clip that you risk tearing off otherwise. You can then wedge open the large plastic clip that holds the front section on; it slides right off.
